[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: none;,true][cs=2][atrb=width,300] hey there. the name's eli lillian byrne! i go by eli or byrne too if you were wondering. also i'll have you know that i am 23 & loving it. oh. you've heard that I'm heterosexual? & that I'm from dublin, ireland? well the rumors are true for once. well I gotta get going, the irish mob is calling. see ya'! history Eli and her brother Levi were the first and only children that their parents were ever able to produce. Their mother had been trying for years to have a child, and when the family was blessed with the twins it was something that they couldn't believe. Eli and Levi were loved dearly and unconditionally, and Eli grew attached to her father moreso than her mother. She was daddy's little girl and it was that way until the day the man died, but that's for later. She loved her mother as well, and was extremely close to her. But Eli just connected with her father on a more personal level, even when she was a youngster. She followed him around like his shadow and when she wasn't attached to her twin brother, she could be found with her father. He would read her books and she would draw him pictures. It was a perfect father daughter relationship. She hated when he and her mother had to leave for work in the mornings, and she wished that they wouldn't go out so much in the evenings either. But that time alone, especially when they were younger, allowed her to grow even closer to her twin. At times it still feels like she can feel what he's feeling. It's an odd sensation, but it connects her to Levi and it's something that she wouldn't trade for the world. When Eli was seven years old she still remembers waking up to her brother snuggling next to her. Even then she could tell exactly when something was bothering him, but the worried expression on his features told her everything. She asked him what was wrong, but he refused to tell her. She worried even though he told her that everything was alright and would be alright. Eli still holds that against him a little bit even though she'd never admit it. She's one to a hold a grudge, but never with her brother. She wishes now that he had told her the truth then but that's not something she can change. So instead of pressing him further that night like she would have liked to, she left him alone and feel asleep cuddling with her twin brother that night. Her brother had always given her a sense of peace when she was younger but that night something changed. She wanted to know what it was, so of course she started investigating. After that night, Eli started digging around in her father's office. They were home schooled until high school, so she had plenty of time to do a bit of snooping. And when she successfully broke into her father's office and started finding paperwork, she obviously knew something was up. She didn't understand the meaning of everything because of her young age, but she knew that they were involved in something called the IRA. She was going to ask them, but her twin beat her to the punch. Their mother and father sat them down in the living room and that was the day that Eli and Levi's lives changed. When everything was explained to the two, instead of being afraid, Eli asked when she could join. That earned a couple of laughs, but the next day Eli's mother took her to their basement. Her mother started teaching her the fine art of knives and a bit of physical fighting. Of course the woman would never hit her daughter, but they did spar, and as Eli grew, her skills only developed more. While she was became extremely skilled at fighting with knives and with hand to hand combat, her real skill lay in shooting and firearms. Now Eli knows the inside and out of every single firearm that is placed within her hands. She loved guns then and she loves them even more. She grew more attached to her mother during her training, but her father was still the main influence in her life. While he trained her brother through hunting, Eli was allowed out on the same trips. She wasn't afraid to take a life even then, even though it was an animal. She became almost obsessed with guns, and started researching more and more as she grew. When they started high school, Eli excelled in her studies. She didn't get involved in the dance team or cheer leading, or boys really. All of her "friends" urged her to but she had no interest and she wasn't going to be some floozy that a bunch of jocks wanted to take advantage of. Instead, she went straight home after school and threw herself into more training. The girl was muscled and toned, and her tall and slim form was catching the attention of the boys in her school. Her junior year of high school was when she really caught their attention because she blossomed. Her father was upset that his little girl was wearing tighter jeans and shorter tops, but he didn't need to worry. One day after school, she was walking home when she realized that she was being followed. Her father didn't allow her to carry a gun to school for obvious reasons, but there was a knife in her pocket and she was more than willing to use it if the situation called for it. When the young man pulled her into a back alley to try to convince her to "satisfy" him, Eli let him take her in. She wanted to kick his ass, and she did. He went running from the alley nursing a bloody, broken nose and two black eyes, as well as an injured groin. After that, boys left her alone. Eli wasn't a whore in high school either. She didn't lose her virginity until she was twenty years old and in the marines. Eli graduated high school when she was seventeen, and she enlisted into the Marines after that. She didn't want to go to college, and her parents supported her, especially her father. She flew through the ranks, but her heart didn't lie in being a senior officer. She was much happier working behind the scenes with her team members. She became apart of the Marine Force Recon, which is the branch that is responsible for gathering intelligence for the USMC operations. She was responsible for deep reconnaissance behind enemy lines, and she was trained in combat, parachuting, skiing, and working with swimming gear as well. Everything was going great for her, until she turned 20. Eli's team was working behind the lines in Afghanistan when everything started falling apart. She was honorably discharged after her team members were killed off one by one. Eli almost lost her life that day, but she was taken hostage by the enemy for the total of one month. She was held for one month and they tortured and brutalized her. That was when she lost not only her virginity, but her pride and her defiance. The things that they did to her in that camp were things that she never talks about, not even to her brother. She was declared emotionally traumatized after her rescue and the Marines discharged her for her mental and physical health. Eli will never get over that. However, instead of resting like she was supposed to, she threw herself into doing things for the IRA that her family had been involved with. She became the number one gun runner for the business and she was skilled at what she did because the training she had from the Marines. She could go behind the lines and complete the deals successfully without any time wasted. She was not only just good at what she did, but she lived and breathed for her job. It distracted her from the memories of her time in capture. She shut herself down slightly after that, although she acted as normally as she could around her brother. When he asked her about what happened to her she brushed it off as if it was no big deal. She doesn't want to remember it and she refuses to think about it. When she turned 21, she was hit with another traumatic event in her life she she still swears to get revenge for. Because of her and her family's ties with the Irish mob, her parents suffered because of it. The IRA and the mob always had tension, and her brother and her were working to soften that tension. Things were going well until the IRA approached her parents about their loyalties. Their parents stood up for the mob and that was when they lost their lives. Eli remembered identifying the bodies with her brother. She didn't cry but her heart felt like it had broken into a million pieces. But she had to be strong for her brother because he was slipping into a dark place. Eli still hasn't mourned the death of her parents. She was extremely close to them, especially her father, and the lost of that man killed something inside of her. The loss of them both ruined her, but she'll never admit it. She hasn't let their memories go because she was too busy helping her brother. She will never blame him for that because he needed her and she would do anything and everything for him. She would lay down her life for him if it meant his survival. She protects him with everything that she has even though he could protect himself. But they got closer after that because they were all that they had left. In order to save her brother from the darkness inside of himself, she offered the idea of moving to where the Selwyns were. She knew how close Levi was with Connor and still is. Although she can't stand the dirty pervert sometimes, the mob was their family and she wasn't going to make Levi suffer any longer. She moved them as soon as he agreed and she became one of the main gun runners for the mob as well. She's friends with all of the Selwyn siblings, especially Kahlan. Connor and her have a love hate relationship, and she's good friends with Lennox. Asher is someone who she appreciates because he's like a fresh breath of air, and she's just glad that her brother has all of them to be around, especially now. After Kyson died, Eli struggled with another loss. She loved the man, and he even helped her train in the art of gun running for the Irish mob. She thought of him as another father and when she heard of his death it was hard for her. But again, like all of the other times, she shut it deep inside of herself and dealt with it that way. The girl holds everything inside because she wants to help those around her first. She worked on comforting the Selwyns and her brother, doing her best to make things easier for them. Now she throws herself into her work. She does as many runs as she can because she wants to distract herself. The young woman is a lot stronger than many people believe her to be. She's as tough as nails and she doesn't appreciate people thinking they can mess with her. She's happy living in the Irish compound with her brother and the Selwyns. It's home to her now and if anyone dares to threaten it, she'll shoot them where they stand. personality Oh Eli. She gives life to the term blonde bombshell. Literally. This girl knows weapons inside and out, and she doesn't feel right unless she's got something strapped to her no matter what she's doing. She's learned every weapon that has ever been in her hands, and can be quite skilled with knives. If the mob ever needs a silent, clean kill, Eli is their go to person. She can get in fast and out even faster. She's ruthless both on and off the job and she doesn't take bull from anyone. If you think you can bring her down she will show you that you have another thing coming. She's not invincible by any means, and one of her greatest strengths is her knowledge of that fact. She's careful, and that is what keeps her alive. She'd bring a bomb to a gun fight because that way she knows she has the upper hand. She's not afraid to reach for the big guns and prefers them actually. Give her a pistol and you've got a happy girl. She doesn't like fancy, pretty things. She's never been a girly girl and that always bothered her mother. However, it always pleased her father, who started training her as soon as she was old enough to hold a knife. She loves to fight and will actually pick a fight when it comes down to it. Always the one to throw the first punch, Eli has studied in various different fighting styles all of her life. She knows how to take care of herself and isn't that blonde bimbo who can't protect herself. She wants guys to try to take advantage of her so she can teach them a lesson. But the girl isn't all cold. She does have a heart but the loss of her parents at such a long way has made her hard and stony. Her parents were murdered by the IRA when she was younger which is something that she hasn't gotten over yet. Her twin brother and her have been plotting against the IRA since then, and Eli is determined and confident that they will have their revenge. Granted, their parents let vital, important information slip, but that doesn't matter to Eli. She's a very loyal individual, and family runs deep in her mind. Now that she only has her twin brother she's attached to him. They do everything together and when there's one twin, you can be sure to find the other. They have that special twin relationship and she doesn't regret it. She loves her brother more than anyone else, but she could care less for his horn dog of a friend Connor. However, she does work for him so a certain level of respect is expected of her. She does respect him to a point. Respect runs deep with her as well. But you have to earn it or she won't give you the time of the day. Eli isn't stuck up in any way, and she'll really do anything for anyone she cares about. She's a regular sweetheart honestly but she just lives and breathes the mob. She's dedicated to her job and one can say she's basically married to it. She needs it to be herself and it's something that she needs to work on. However she'll never admit that she has a problem. Eli is also obsessed with fire. Anything to do with it and she's absolutely addicted. Just like her twin. She's a charming young lady, and her Irish accent adds to her appeal. However, she is dark and mysterious and she doesn't let anyone in. She doesn't let anyone close to her because it's safer that way. She has so much locked inside of her walls and it would take a miracle to break those down. If anyone wants to try, she might shoot you. So it's a risk, but her whole life has been a risk. She follows the rules of the mob and does what she's supposed to do. The Marines taught her how to listen and obey. She's the perfect soldier. | [atrb=width,200] |

Because of Connor's comment, Asher was trapped back in his memories. He remembered how sick he had felt when he first started his chemotherapy. His mother had been petrified to even touch him but she had been supportive with her words. Kahlan hadn't been as over protective then because their mother was still there. It was Lennox that was there for him. His father had wanted nothing to do with the sick cancer kid that was his youngest son. Asher had ruined his father's dreams of having another soldier in his mob. He hated it. He had wanted nothing more than to fight alongside his eldest brother and his father. He wanted his dad to be proud of him but it had never happened. He had also wanted Connor to be proud of him but he had never heard those words uttered from his mouth. The only person that had ever said those words to him was Lennox. And it was after his first chemotherapy and radiation session. He had felt absolutely awful, and as he had leaned over to get sick for the first time of many, he felt a hand on his back supporting him. That was when Lennox had said those words and Asher would always remember that. He would always appreciate him for that.
Shaking those thoughts from his mind, he heard Connor speaking about Kahlan. Furrowing his brow, he looked over incredulously. Were they talking about the same person? However, Connor mentioned that she was worse than Hitler and that comment earned a small laugh from Asher. However that hurt his face so he grimaced slightly, trying not to show his pain. This was nothing compared to what he had went through with his cancer. Sighing to himself, he slouched back in the seat, knowing he was in for more admonishing from his older brother. He knew that he should have been more careful when it came to that fight. But what was he supposed to do? It wasn't like he could stop them and say, oh hey guys, do you think we could finish this in that back alley over there? Somehow Asher didn't see that going well so he didn't understand what Connor expected him to do. Slightly frustrated and angry at that fact, he heard him speak about hugging and not rolling his eyes. He was about to open his mouth too say something sarcastic again, but then he saw Connor out of the corner of his eye. "Are you having a seizure?" He questioned cheekily, knowing he was probably going to get whacked for that. Asher had always been respectful towards Connor in the past, but he had changed since the older Selwyn had seen him. That was to be expected, especially while he was suffocating under Kahlan's maternal instincts. It was like he was in his own personal prison. Asher, don't do that. Asher, don't do this. Asher, remember, you had cancer, you need to be careful! He had been in remission for years. The chances of the leukemia returning were slim to none.
She needed to relax, but that wasn't happening. So instead, Asher had done something for himself. He had saved his money and he had come here. It was perfect. Now he could live with his brothers and have his dream bachelor life. He didn't want to be Kahlan's dear, little boy anymore. Grumbling to himself as he sat there, he heard Connor's comment about the napkins. "Ninny is such a strong word. I prefer visibly challenged sometimes. And sorry to burst your bubble Con, but getting shot is not on my bucket list." He finished snidely, and then opened the glove compartment, still using his hands as run off for the blood pouring from his nose. He was beginning to feel light headed but he'd never complain. That was one thing about Asher. He never complained. Ever. No matter what he was going through he stayed positive and sarcastic. It was just who he was and it wasn't about to change. Even when he had been at his worst he had never said one thing about how sick he felt. He took it quietly and silently, holding his head up even when his own father didn't care if he lived or died. That was what it felt like anyway. Sometimes he felt like Connor had thought the same thing. He was an abomination to the family. He was the weakest link. If he died it would just make the family stronger, and they wouldn't have to be ashamed of the sick one.
Pushing those thoughts from his mind, he hastily grabbed at the tissues, shoving one up his nose quickly to try to stem the problem. His movements were too fast however, and the cracking of bone and cartilage could be heard as he moved the broken pieces. Well that was just great. Paling from the pain and the noise, he stayed quiet. He wouldn't complain in front of Connor,. He refused to look weak in front of him. Relying on his defiance and his fighting spirit, he sighed to himself and then looked over as Connor held a gun out to him. Should e act stupid or admit the truth? Asher decided to act stupid. Taking the gun gingerly in his hands, he looked over. "No. Dad didn't give two shits. Why would he be proud of a kid that had cancer? And why would he bother dealing with a kid he thought was going to die?" He questioned bitterly, obviously pissed beyond belief at their deceased father. Shaking his head at those thoughts, he listened as Connor said next time he could just shoot them. "What is this? Texas Chainsaw Massacre? I got thrown in to jail for punching them. Imagine if the cops had shown up and they were all dead?" He finished worriedly, Trying not to think about it, Asher realized how much he still needed to learn. He hadn't shot a person yet. Targets sure, but that was about it. He had mastered all basic maneuvers and was even better at the harder steps. Just..shooting a real person kind of scared him a little bit. He would never admit that, but it was the truth.
When they arrived at Connor's humble abode, Asher wasn't surprised. Looking through the windshield at the set up, he shook his head. "I swear, your place gets smaller and smaller every time I see it. It's a good thing you don't have a thing for dramatic flair." Well Asher certainly wasn't quiet anymore. When they got into the garage finally, he got up and shoved the used tissues into the garbage that was in there. Closing the car door, he follow Connor into his mansion and saw Lennox with a girl in his lap. But that wasn't before he replied once more to Connor, probably pissing him off even more. "Listen? I'm going to record everything and use it for blackmail at a later date. I'll make you your own sex tape." He admitted cheekily, smiling innocently as they entered the living room. Oh good old Lennox. Asher had to admit that he missed his closest sibling.
"I always arrive with a bang. Gotta keep old timer on his toes, after all." He grinned over at Connor and then heard his elder brother refer to the middle as a fairy. Still with that insult eh? "You should research synonyms for fairy. It's getting a little repetitive." He ducked out of the way of any incoming punch or object thrown his way and then grinned mischievously to Lennox. Practically dancing after Connor, he threw some more words over to Len. "Aw come on. He's like a big ol' softy!" Knowing he'd probably get in trouble for that as well, he stood behind Connor innocently once more. Seeing the room, he walked in after his brother and looked around. He would need to get his stuff. "Well thanks Connor. I..all my stuff is at an apartment I rented in the slums. It was all I could afford?" He knew Connor would hate the fact that a Selwyn was in the slums, but hey. Beggars couldn't be choosers. He had done the best that he could. He was just glad to be with his brothers again. He felt like he was turning into a woman with Kahlan being the only person in his life.
