She spent a lot of her childhood fighting with him like any other brother and sister but when it came down to it he had her back. He was the quarter back in high school and it was his link that got her involved with the popular kids at high school. She was always one of the popular kids throughout her school life, her brightness and happiness just seemed to pull everyone in and nobody could escape. She was very creative and spent a lot of time painting and drawing, she had originally tried dance it was something that she truly loved to do but when she was 10 her dance teacher had told her that she wasn't good enough. She was either dropped to a lower class or she could not continue, she dropped out and decided to keep dancing as something she purely did in her own private time. She joined the cheerleaders in high school and really had a close bond with her brother during this time, considering how he was a senior and she was sophomore. However once her brother left she barely saw any of him, he got involved in drugs and got kicked out by her parents meaning that she hardly ever saw him, he parents forbid her from going to visit him deeming the neighbourhood he lived in too dangerous for a small girl so she pretty much cut off contact with him. It wasn't long after that her family were alerted that her brother had passed away from an overdose, this sent Jess into a downward spiral. She quit the cheerleaders and became more and more secluded pretty much cutting off all of her ties within the school. The only thing she could bring herself to do was paint, she spent hours at a time just paining anything she possibly could. It was her escape and a way to keep her mind off of the horrible thing that had happened, eventually she opened herself up to the world more but by then it was too late. She graduated high school with very low grades and no friends to show for it. She began to argue more and more with her parents and eventually she moved out, she still went to the local college but lived in the dorms. She enrolled on an art course deciding to take her passion and talent to the next level. She's working on getting the bright shining star within her back up and running but with everything around her reminding her of her brother it's just incredibly difficult for her to do that. She's trying to open up, and right now that’s where she is. sarah - 20 - 8 years Adam was almost certain that Charlie could hear his heart thudding hard against his chest, even though it was such a terrible situation for Charlie to be in, Adam still was unable to control his hormones towards his best friend. He knew that right now he shouldn’t be thinking of how badly he just wanted to press his lips to Charlies and never release him, or how badly he wanted to just hold the man until he wasn’t hurt anymore but he had to fight all of those urges because at the end of the day Adam was only a friend to Charlie and right now it was more vital than ever that he completely respected that about him even if he didn’t necessarily want to completely do that. He wanted to prove to Charlie that there would always be someone here who loved him but now was not the right time he could sense that and he would do it one day before Charlie gave in and went back to Reese. “Nobody should ever make you unhappy. I know right now anywhere away from him is obviously going to be happy but you’re always going to be safe here Charlie. And I’m always going to do what I can to make you happy.” Adam truly valued Charlies friendship he appreciated how much he’d actually stepped up to the plate in the past taking on so many responsibilities that he hadn’t needed to. Like taking Annaleigh to the doctor when Adam couldn’t or taking her to dance lessons or just being like a second father to Annaleigh and that was part of the attraction for Adam he didn’t have to worry about whether or not his daughter would ever like his boyfriend because he already knew that if Charlie was his boyfriend that Annaleigh would like it but his daughter wasn’t the only reason it was also his happiness that came into this and of course that came second to his daughters happiness but at the same time in the long term it needed to be considered. He’d never had a truly serious relationship and after seeing what it can lead to right now in Charlie he wasn’t sure he ever wanted to get into something like that with a stranger, whilst he’d be harder to push around he still couldn’t bare to think of someone you loved abusing you like that and it hurt even more to know that it was the exact same feelings that Charlie had experienced and was feeling right now. Adam was pretty sure his heart stopped beating when he heard Charlie ask him if he’d hold him, he resisted the urge to jump forward and seem all to eager to do it and he knew it was wrong to be so eager considering the situation but after all Adam was only human and he was in love with his best friend so how could he honestly control anything he was feeling fully when the poor man was in such desperate need of some proof that somewhere out there someone loved him. Adam hoped he could provide that proof tonight. “Of course. Tonight is about making you feel better.” He smiled warmly trying to show that he really didn’t mind, he knew in situations like this it was easy for people to just say yes without actually meaning it or liking it but the idea of sleeping the night through holding Charlie in his arms was like a dream come true for Adam. It was like staring at something so precious through a glass window your entire life and seeing it and only ebing able to look at it but when you finally got to touch it, it was surreal and that was how it was going to feel tonight. He was trying his best not to upset Charlie, any anger he was saving for if Reese decided to dare come over here Adam stood up for what he believed in and being a paramedic he had to be somewhat fit and know how to handle himself incase tough situations came up and Reese would be no match for him, he may be bigger and stronger but Adam was smarter and if it meant that he would have to risk himself to get revenge for Charlie then that is what he would gladly do. He was always careful about putting himself into unescassary dance because at the end of the day it wasn’t hjust him he had to think of he also had to think of the little girl who expected him to come safe every night, the little girl who needed him there to tuck her in and he would be there but in this case it was something that he truly believed in, it was going to be difficult to just push it away especially when he’d seen the damage that this jerk had done to his best friend. He wanted to see how manly Reese was when someone was there who would stand up to him and who would fight back without the complication of love coming into it. Although he knew if Charlie ever did go back to Reese after this then it would be the end of their friendship, it would have to be he couldn’t hang around to watch Charlie destroy himself. It was going to come down to him and Reese or him and Adam and obviously Adam knew which one he wanted him to pick. Adam hated being aware that Charlie was in pain and he was beginning to wonder if maybe his injuries were more serious than Adam had first thought and he was torn between actually letting him go to bed or taking him to the hospital immediately. He guessed that since he was conscious and actually responsive that maybe they could get away with going in the morning, he didn’t need anymore stress coming to Charlie right now he just really wanted to see what he could make better for him. Adam took a high majorly of Charlie’s weight as they walked, he didn’t rush him he simply walked slowly with him allowing Charlie to go at his own pace trying to persuade him that it was okay to put more weight on him he was actually stronger than people gave him credit for especially when his friend needed him to be. Adam stumbled with him but quickly regain his composure pulling him back and letting out a deep sigh, he rubbed Charlies back slowly knowing that he was conscious of what was happening.
