The much-anticipated film 'Tread Lightly' (directed by up-and-comer, and Sapphire Bay born-and-raised, Webber Swanepoel) will be coming right here to our lovely city. The film is projected to hit the box office in the number one slot when it's released, and we certainly couldn't have gotten luckier than to have it filmed right here! Thank SB native, Webber Swanepoel for the location choice. "I grew up here in the Bay, and I knew it had everything I wanted, location-wise," said Swanepoel in a recent interview. 'Tread' also features some of the top movie names of our day, none more so than Ms York Andrews and Mr Kale | [atrb=vAlign,top] Smithson as the movie's leading lady and leading man. Although unavailable for interview due to their rigorous work schedule, the two were spotting filming one of their action scenes on the beach. There are a few more notable names - as well as some newer faces - included on the project, and the entire town is revved up for the excitement this will bring to the Bay. In the words of our venerable mayor, Weston Le Stoat, "It will certainly be good for business!" So keep an eye out around town for some of those famous faces, and be sure to check out the sign-up sheets at the set for any roles for extras or set helpers. 'Tread' will definitely need its fair share of hands-on-deck. |
