Today was the day that she was finally allowed to leave the hospital, and she had to admit that she was excited. A week had been too long and she had practically been trying to escape since the second day of being here. But finally she was granted permission. Ferris was going to bring her home and he was going to help her get settled into her apartment. She was thankful that he was still with her and by her side after everything that she told him but there was still doubt in the back of her mind. Was he staying only out of pity? Was he scared that she would break if he did leave? Archer didn't want him to feel trapped in any way because that wasn't a relationship. That was her having control over him and she couldn't do that to him. Sighing to herself now, she shook her head slightly as she packed up the things that he had brought her during the week. As she placed them in the hospital bag, her brown eyes fell on the yellow dress that she had worn that fateful night. Her fingers touched the soft silk and her heart skipped a beat as she thought about what had happened. That mysterious stranger had been Ferris and she realized then how much she needed him and how much she loved that boy.
He told her he loved her and she believed him. But there had to be doubt in his mind, there just had to be. She hadn't expected him to be okay with what had happened to her in the past, but the way he had reacted frightened her a little. He said he wanted that guy and she was worried about him. If he got involved then she wouldn't know what to do. She wanted to tell him about who her family really was but she couldn't put him that danger. If anyone found out the truth than he would lose his life. No one was supposed to know. She was sure that Noah hadn't even told his wife the truth and she would not risk Ferris' life. Sighing softly to herself, she looked down at the dress once more. Placing it gently back in the bag, she finished packing and then looked up as Ferris came in. When he asked if she was ready, she forced a smile upon her face and nodded. She was still sore from the accident, and her wrist was still in the cast, but the bruises were fading. They had faded into that rainbow shade, and she wished there was a way that she could it.
She was embarrassed by it all and didn't want the attention. Trying to force those thoughts from her mind, she just grabbed her things with her good hand and followed Ferris out of the room that had been hers for the past suffocating week. She got into his car without another word, leaning her forehead against the window for a moment. It was cool to her face and she was thankful for that. Her head was swimming with the things that she wanted to tell Ferris but she just couldn't say. Closing her eyes, it wasn't long before Archer drifted off to sleep in Ferris' car. She hadn't slept much in the hospital because she wasn't comfortable, but being alone with Ferris was all that she could ask for. The car ride wasn't very long, but she appreciated the small nap that she had gotten anyway. When they finally arrived at her place, she blinked the sleep away from her eyes and got out of the car, closing the door behind her. Smiling softly at Ferris, she led him up the stairs to her apartment and unlocked the door. "I'm glad to be home." Her border collie mix, Nolan, came trotting over, whining in his excitement to see her. She smiled and kneeled down to him, petting him happily. "Hi bud...did Ferris spoil you?" She asked the dog lovingly, watching as Nolan danced over to Ferris as well. Archer watched the two and then went further into the apartment, placing her bag on the counter of the kitchen. "Thanks for everything Ferris. I...I really appreciate it all."

i'm waiting for some kind of miracle [atrb=border,0,true] [style=width: 250px; height: 290px; padding: 0px 5px 0px 5px; font-family: calibri; font-size: 11px; text-align:justify; color: #333; line-height: 99%; overflow: auto;]ferris was relieved beyond words that archer didn't have to be in this hospital anymore. although it didn't really bother him to be in the hospital, he knew she hated it, and that was why he was glad she was getting 'free'. ambling calmly down the hallway, he smiled at passing nurses he recognized now and then proceeded into archer's room. she was already out of bed and dressed in the outfit he'd brought for her the night before to wear home. "all ready to go?" he asked with a small smile, trying to lighten the heavy mood he already felt in the room. she nodded but said nothing, and while he could sense the tension, he didn't want to confront the issue. just his luck, now that she was recuperated and no longer needed him to help out around her house while she was gone, she would stop caring about him and go back to hating him. he'd been enough of a jackass to try to push her away, and perhaps he had succeeded finally. not that he no longer wanted to push her away.
the elevator ride down to the parking garage was a quiet one as he stared at the reflective metal on the inside of the moving box, and then he led her to his car, the same one he'd been driving that night he'd heard about her accident. he opened the door for her and stowed her stuff in the backseat and then jumped in the driver's side to take her home. he knew the way by heart now since he'd been doing some cleaning and feeding and walking nolan while she'd been in the hospital. he also chose the route that, although taking a bit longer, would take them away from the road where she'd had her accident. it still bothered him to drive down that road, seeing the bits of glass that glittered in the median as the sun shone down on them. as the silence between them continued, he slowly began to feel the need to say something, and he opened his mouth to speak, glancing over at her, just to realize she had been asleep the whole car ride. biting his tongue, he drove them the rest of the way to her apartment and parked the car which woke her up.
he followed her silently up the stairs, and the first words to break the silence were hers as she greeted nolan who wagged his black and white tail, happy to see her. when the border collie came to greet him, ferris petted him, glad to have his attention on something else so the awkward tension between him and archer wasn't as noticeable. "i'm sure you are," he answered as she said she was glad to be home. patting nolan on his head as the dog turned to follow his owner around adoringly, ferris stuffed his hands into the pockets of his jeans, he shifted his weight uncomfortably, still standing by the entrance. "don't worry about it," he responded as she thanked him for everything. all he'd been able to think about since she'd told him about the night she'd lost her memory so many years ago was the guy who had done that to her. he hated him, and he didn't know hardly anything about him. he didn't see archer as something tainted, but rather he saw the guy who had raped her as a monster: the image of everything he hated. when he'd been in her apartment especially, it was all he could think about: how badly he wanted to avenge her, so to speak.
half-turning to the door, he began to turn the knob. "well, i guess i'll be going. i'm sure you've had enough of people hovering over you this past week." he didn't necessarily want to leave her alone in her apartment, but he didn't know how to comfort her. he was good at hurting people, but he was afraid to try to make her feel better: scared he would just hurt her again.
