Boy meets girl. Boy and girl are happy. Girl gets pregnant. Boy has no choice but to marry girl, or his mother will beat the living shit out of him. Boy becomes a miserable, abusive prude. Marriage is bound to fail from the very beginning. Two years after their son was born, it was discovered that another child was on the way. His mother didn't want to have this child seeing what young Gabriel had seen so in the dead of night, she packed their things and ran to Miami with her sleeping son. Without a way to support them, she started scouting around for jobs and began to work on getting citizenship for her and her son. It was a messy process but after seven years, they got it. During those seven years, little Gabriel was pushed around in school and tried to do what he could to protect his little sister. Since his mother had given up on relationships, he had become the man of the house, even if he didn't have a way to support them. Shortly before his tenth birthday, his mother's real occupation was discovered. It didn't take long for him to figure things out when the pimp came calling on his favorite bitch, using her children as a way to keep her in line. It made the boy's blood boil, to say the least. Like a good kid, he kept his mouth shut and did as he was told. After all, he was just a boy. How did he expect to save his mother from such a fate when he couldn't even protect himself from an atomic wedgie? At sixteen, he had enough. He took his younger sister and ran. Thanks to their running, they found themselves in Sapphire Bay. He got emancipated and took custody of his sister. Soon after, he dropped out of school and got a job to put food on the table. He insisted that she stay in school so she could make something of herself. Big brother had to make sacrifices, right? That's precisely what he did. There weren't any lengths he wouldn't go to make sure his sister had the life she deserved. Two years later, at the urging of a coworker, he got his GED. From there, while still managing to make sure his sister had the 'good life,' he went to college, intent on becoming a police officer. After four years of college and two years in the police academy, he got his wish. Apparently, he did well, considering his sister wanted to teach the youthful minds of tomorrow. Somewhere, during those six years, he met his brother from another mother, Caleb. The two of them were practically inseparable. As time went on, their bond only grew stronger. He's going on his second year in the force. brenda - 17 - ... |
