noah had known his cousin donata - or archer as she was currently calling herself and had informed him she would continue calling herself from here on out - for a total of a week. however, in that amount of time, he'd found out more about her life than he ever could have imagined. the life of his mafia family was so complicated, he'd never even begun to dream what it could entail. details his grandfather had left out of the stories he'd told him were gradually beginning to take shape, and archer's disappearance from the family so many years before was now making sense.
archer had been raped. it was some irish bastard, and she'd only known his first name, but more and more details were coming back to her day by day. her memory had been lost when she'd been caught in the house where the irish had imprisoned her after kidnapping her from outside of her school when she was fifteen. she'd been chained to a pole in the basement, and that was where the guy, then eighteen or nineteen, had raped her one night when he was drunk. although he'd unbound her, she hadn't made it out of the house before it had collapsed around her from structural damage from the ensuing gunfight between the constantinos and the irish. after a cranial injury, she'd suffered from massive amnesia and had forgotten her life until about a week ago when she'd been in a car accident that triggered her old memories. and she'd confessed most of what had happened to noah. he wondered if she'd told her boyfriend, but that wasn't his problem: he knew. however, he'd come to care for the younger girl even in the short time he'd known her. she had a sweet personality, and in his life of cutthroat business-people, people like archer were few and far to come by. so now he had her and allison to keep him in check when he was being an asshole. being around archer made him miss his sisters badly.
but missing his siblings was not his reason to be at the police station today. he'd taken it on his own accord to go to the police about all of this nonsense. something had to be done about the man who'd done this to his cousin. she'd told him not to go to the cops, but he was stubborn and refused to listen. he'd told her he wouldn't say anything, but he'd decided against the course of action. never having been immersed in the mafia life of his family, he was innocent to the dangers of going to the police with the type of information he had on him. so he may be making a mistake, but it was one he was going to have to learn that the hard way.
walking into the police station, noah walked over to the front desk and leaned on to it with a determined look on his handsome face. "i would like to see someone please," he requested as nicely as he could manage considering the weight of his reason for coming. "i need to report a rape."
