akeno leeza redling
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: none;,true][cs=2][atrb=width,300] hey there. the name's akeno leeza redling! i go by akeno too if you were wondering. also i'll have you know that i am nineteen & loving it. oh. you've heard that I'm hetero? & that I'm from tokyo, japan? well the rumors are true for once. well I gotta get going, waitressing at velvet revolver is calling. see ya'! history akeno is half-japanese, half-english, born out of wedlock to a former japanese princess of sorts. no, her mother wasn't literally a princess, she was just the beloved daughter of a very rich technology investor in japan. her mother, ai, was the only child of her parents, and she was cherished by them (her name actually means 'love'). her father was an inventor and engineer, heavily invested in the technologies industry. he became a high level operator in samsung industries when it was first starting out, and the family prospered. then the dark days of ai's story came. one night on her way home from her after-school tutoring sessions, she was accosted by a group of men who tried to rape her and mugged her. thankfully, she was saved at the last moment by a group of english college boys in tokyo for their spring break. instantly, she was drawn to their leader, an intelligent, attractive young brit named george whitmore. because she knew her parents would never approve of her even being attracted to a man who wasn't japanese, ai began to see him in secret while he was in the city. they would go out for meals in the lesser-known gems of the city, ai leading him on a tour of what tokyo was really like. at the end of two weeks' time, ai was in love with him, and he was enamored with her. he took her virginity on his last night in town and vowed he would always love her. he promised he would try to return as soon as he could to see her again: that he would steal her away from her life which was so plotted and planned out, and they would run away together. sounds pretty magical doesn't it? it never happened. to her chagrin and shame, ai found herself missing her first period following george's departure. after taking a pregnancy test, she found herself pregnant. knowing her parents would never approve of a pregnancy outside of marriage, she kept the truth from them for as long as she could. after about three months, however, she could no longer wear clothes to cover her growing form. in shame, she went to her parents and revealed the truth to them. the very night ai told her parents about her unborn child, with an englishman no less, they threw her out on the street and disowned her. alone in the world, she worked to maintain her situation, but she was soon starving and seven months pregnant. as fate would have it, she was taken in by a caring baker and his wife who had no children of their own. ai was eighteen at the time, and she worked as a cashier in the kind couple's bakery while living in the loft apartment over the store. after two months' time, ai grew ever closer to her due date, and she came down with the deadly version of avian flu (H5N1). she was restricted to her bed in the loft apartment, treated by the poor baker's wife who had come to love the young woman as her own. her body went into labor even as her immune system desperately tried to fight the flu taking over. she gave birth to akeno 48 hours later. weak from the labor and the flu which was killing her, ai used her last breaths to name the child (akeno leeza, akeno meaning 'of light' and leeza after george's mother who he'd told her about). despite their low status in life, the baker and his wife decided to keep the baby as their own and they adopted akeno, raising her in their way of life. from the time she was old enough to understand, the baker and his wife explained to her that they weren't her biological parents, but they wouldn't give her all of the details of her parents. they didn't know much about her father because ai had never told them a whole lot, they only knew he was british and his name was george. they didn't even know his last name. they also knew nothing else about her extended family because ai had refused to talk about the parents who had disowned her, and she hadn't know anything about george's family outside of his parents' names. however, despite her lack of knowledge about her lineage, akeno was well-loved by her adoptive parents and they gave her the best of what they could afford. throughout school, although she only went to the schools her parents could afford, akeno did her best and proved herself a wonderful pupil. when akeno was sixteen, she applied for a scholarship to the high school level school (japanese students are not required to attend what is equivalent to high school in the us, but most of them do attend) where all of the rich kids went. she won the scholarship and was thrown into the 'higher class' society. the kids there looked down on her for being poor, and she was often an outsider, but she didn't mind. she was there for a good education and for nothing else. when she was seventeen, that was when she was transferred to the area of the school where transfer students were admitted, and she became a japanese tutor to the military-mens' and businessmens' kids. it was during this time that she met alexander ruxon. alex was like no japanese boy she'd ever met, and she fell in love with him (like mother, like daughter). while he traveled back to the states during the summer, he would return for the school year when his father was conducting business in tokyo. their little romance continued until alex was permanently moved back to the states when they turned eighteen. during this time, akeno's own family was going through hard times as their bakery simply wasn't pulling in enough income to support them and the added expenses of her better schooling. although she'd won a scholarship, it didn't pay for everything, and her parents were strapped for cash. she managed to graduate, but her parents were sufficiently bankrupt by that time. as akeno turned nineteen, she knew she had to do something to help them although they always told her she didn't need to worry about it. she did the easiest thing she could think of to make money: she became a mail-order bride. if she could marry a man in the states (where she also knew alex to be), then she could send money back to her parents and keep them out of bankruptcy. she never considered herself or the potential for a love-less marriage; she only thought about helping the only family that had ever wanted her. after only a few months time, she received an email from a suitor in the states, ezra redling, and she was soon on her way to being a wife. lying to her parents and telling them she had met him online and they had fallen in love - to which her parents were still skeptical - akeno traveled to kyoto to be married to ezra before moving to the states soon-thereafter. now, she is living in sapphire bay with her new husband whom she hasn't even slept with. she is still a virgin, one of the appeals to her being a mail-order bride, and she is living in a strange world. personality akeno was raised to think about others before herself. she is very selfless and rarely talks about her feelings. she has always been curious about her biological family, but she doesn't have much information on them. she does have a picture of her mother she keeps in a locket around her neck at all times, but she knows little to nothing about her father who never tried to find her. sometimes she's angry that her father never put out an effort to find her, but she doesn't know that george never even knew mother was pregnant with his child. akeno likes singing, dancing, dressing up, being girly, painting, writing, and cats. she enjoys working, and she's a hardworker. she's glad she got ezra versus some of the men she could have ended up with. although she's not in love with him, she appreciates that he married her and allows her to send money back to her parents. | [atrb=width,200] |
