lose control tonight 682 WORDS FOR ANYONE She laughed, turning on her heel her eyes directed upward as she took in all the bright lights of the carnival. Giggling she spun around again, this time closing her eyes before stopping herself and taking a wobbled, dizzying skip step forward. Catching herself before she stumbled she ran up to the line of the ticket boot. Rocking back onto her heels, she hummed along to music coming from one of the rides and did all she could do, wait. It only took about five minutes for her to get to the booth, where she debated for a moment between tickets for rides and a bracelet but finally just deciding on a bracelet so that she didn’t have to worry about running out and having to spend even more money. She had made plans with a few of her friends to meet over at the first concession trailer by the booths, looking over she didn’t quite see any of her friends but to be sure she ran over, looking all-around the trailer she finally paused by the ordering window “What can I get you miss?” She turned on her heel. “Oh! Umm just a cotton candy for me please!” She smiled, pulling her money out of her wallet she put the few dollars up on the counter and waited as the women walked back over with a big bag of cotton candy, and instantly her eyes lit up and she smiled, giving a cheery thank you she wandered off into the crowd of people, contently peeling off and eating pieces of cotton candy.
Wandering past the games and rides she took a moment to glance at each before finding herself forgetting about the games and rides and fun and focusing on the people around her, her eyes started scanning their faces as they laughed and spoke with friends and family, smiled cause they won whatever game they were playing, thought because they were figuring out what to do next or what prize they wanted. It was nice there was no anger or anything going wrong tonight, everyone seemed to be having so much fun, and the air was electrified with screams of joy and terror as well as happiness, awe and excitement. She just wished now she had waited to see if any of her friends had turned up over at their little meeting spot. Turning her head to look back she stumbled back a step when a mass of people obstructed her view. Blinking she shrugged it off than turned back around and began walking around.
She had walked the entire place by now and saw every game she wanted to play and made a list of every ride she wanted to ride but for now her eyes rested on a three story fun house that was meant to be haunted house theme but clearly wasn't, a little childish sure but it looked like fun, and it didn't have a line. Giggling she ran up, stoping only to show the worker her bracelet before walking up the steps. The first thing was one of the circles on it's side that you walk through as it's turning. Taking a step onto it she squeaked a little "oh" in surprise but quickly got her footing and walked through into a room full of mirrors. Cautiously walking forward she paused as she figured out if she looked at the floor she could see where she needed to be instead of being disoriented by the mind tricking mirrors. She heard someone else in the room and he glanced up but only seeing herself she walked on with get eyes on the floor guiding her, but even that had her walking to dead ends and getting lost. She noticed a few people with friends simply wandering through and in a desperate attempt to get out she tried to follow them and walked straight into a mirror. She turned around and looked trying to figure out just where she was and how she could get out.

incorruptible corruption fear will blind your mind standing impatiently with his hands in the pockets of his knee-length black duster, connor glared through the semi-darkness across the park. he'd initially shown up to meet one of his agents, but she was running late and he was growing bored. boredom was never good in connor selwyn's life. unlike normal people who rid themselves of ennui by watching tv or playing a board game, connor got murderous. he hated waiting, and he made him angry, and having nothing to do all compiled to turn him into quite the unendurable company. since he carried multiple weapons on him at all times, unless he was sleeping, his hateful behavior could easily be aided by a myriad of tools. his fingers fidgeted in his pockets as he strolled through the darker areas of the carnival, always scanning the crowd. he was like a predator, a wolf, circling his prey for a joy kill. if he had been born a wolf, he wouldn't been a sick twisted bastard, that's for sure.
when one of the many dancers danced past him, not paying attention to where she was going, he growled and shoved her away, sending her tumbling into a nearby tent. it was like a game of dominos as she ran into a group of people and sent the lot of them falling into the tent with her. connor snorted amusedly to himself as 'good' citizens ran to help, and he continued walking. the only time in his life when connor could have been considered a 'good citizen' was when he was a child. ah, the innocence of childhood. he'd lost that innocence a very long time ago. he'd grown up in the shadows of his father's rage toward the italian mafia for killing their family, and he'd been trained to be a soldier, a killer, since he was in kindergarten. despite his ruthlessness, however, he had a sense of charm to him as well. he could charm a victim into his grasp and squeeze the life out of them. it was a necessary tool of his trade.
as he walked, his anger not pleased with the simple misdeed he'd done by sending the dancer sprawling into the group of carnival-goers, connor fumed silently to himself while rounding the corner of the 'haunted mansion'. haunted indeed. he'd seen one of the workers of the place enter fully drunk, and he highly doubted there was much scare to the place at all. however, a petite figure at the door piqued his interested. half of the building was the haunted house and the other half held the house of mirrors... how appropriate. he loved americans and their need to be terrorized. smiling to himself as he saw the female enter with a bit of a spring to her step that irritated him simply because giddy happiness sickened him in his present state of annoyance, connor fell back into the shadows and rounded the building around the back. finding the employee entrance, he easily entered since the workers didn't give a damn to lock the door. once inside, he had the perfect view of the mirror house. one way glass, how clever, he thought to himself. slipping along the edges of the house of mirrors, he found her, stumbling through, not because she was drunk (he doubted it at any rate) but because she was merely lost in having a good time.
finding the entrance to the mirrored hallways from the employees' area, connor slipped into the reflective area with only the slightest thump of the door as he shut it behind him. he heard his prey pause, and he froze until he heard her move off again. he rounded a corner and saw her standing there, having bumped into one of the surrounding mirrors which left her stunned in a dead end. reaching into his jacket, he silently withdrew one of his knives, scraping the metal along the glass and creating such a high-pitched grating sound that it almost made him cringe from the sound. an evil smile curved over his lips as he came to a stop behind her, his face reflected in every mirror surrounding her in the circular enclosure. "fancy meeting you here, lily," he cooed darkly as he ran the knife up and down the glass in a smooth caress, etching lines in the weak glass. "big brother not around to chaperone you?" he tsked with a smile as he waved the knife at her in a no-no motion. "a pretty girl like you really shouldn't be wandering off alone. who knows who could get a hold of you..." TEMPLATE BY ROYALSTANDARD.

lose control tonight 406 WORDS FOR CONNOR She jumped, the screetch sent shivers up the young girls spine and she quickly went, her hand on the glass struggling to find where one let off and she could get the heck out of here. She froze as finally a face came into sight, every where around her was Connor Selwin, she held her breath for a moment, not sure of what to do, a glance down in the mirror and she saw the knife and her stomach sunk. Apparently this is what she got for lying to her brother about studying for class and going to the carnival. In an instant about a hundred worst case scenarios ran through her mind. Her mind was completely vacant of anything she could do to get away from him. She closed her eyes, leaning onto the mirror her hands were against she let out a ragged breathe, Lily didn’t even know if she could even speak at the moment, she wasn’t one to scare too easily and though she despised Connor he was the one person that would also make her blood go cold with just a glance. Taking a deep breathe she started, “N-Neil doesn’t even know I’m here. He thinks I’m studying.” She turned slowly, to face him, forcing herself to not just try and run past him or stare at his knife as if it was already pressed into her skin, however the only way she found it even possible was if she was looking at the ground. “I was meeting up with friends but-” She stopped herself, she didn’t need to explain what she was doing to him he had no control over her, though he did have a knife.
With the small shred of courage that she was able to muster up she looked up at him, pushing herself off of the glass slightly she put her weight onto the ball of her foot, almost getting ready to either run or to have to defend herself if he tried anything. Gulping, her tried to not be scared, her hands curled into fists and she glared at him. “What do you want from me Connor? Hasn’t my big brother done enough for you already.. why do you have to torment me?” It felt good to be able to stand up for herself for once, and she even believed the annoyance in her voice despite being terrified that he might actually hurt her.

incorruptible corruption fear will blind your mind when she admitted her brother had no idea she was here, connor actually laughed out loud. neil was good at what he did, but apparently he was horrible at teaching his little sister the skills she needed to stay alive. as he glanced her over, connor could see the innocence that seemed to hover around her like a scared little cloud of naivety. it amused him, how obviously afraid of him she was although she was putting up quite an effort to hide it. however, he could practically feel fear in the air when someone was afraid. it was like a vibration in the air, disrupting the way things should be.
twirling the knife expertly around in his fingers, he glanced at the silver blade and then back to lily. "you're a pretty little lass, lily," connor hissed, moving closer to her, gently placing the edge of his knife against the underside of her jaw. "i bet you're smart too." he drew a soft line along her skin, not cutting her but only reveling in her shivers as she struggled to stare him down. "i don't want to hurt you really; at least that wasn't my original intention," he cooed with a smile as if talking to a loyal dog, "i just need you to remind your brother of his oath to me. i wouldn't want him... forgetting." his hazel eyes grew hard and his wrist flicked, slicing off the bracelet on her wrist with one fluid motion. the plastic fell to the floor with a small 'plop', and connor smiled broadly as if nothing had happened. "do you think you could tell him we met? i'm sure he'd love to hear about it." he smiled innocently, shrugging as if it were no big deal that her life was hanging in the balance as they spoke. lose control tonight 675 WORDS FOR CONNOR She felt so belittled when he laughed at her. Here she was doing her best to be well, her own kind of bad and she was being laughed at, not only did she feel to only be but a few inches tall but she felt so stupid for thinking that she would be able to lie to her brother, go out and not meet some sort of consequence, however never had she thought it would bring her to a knife bearing Connor Selwyn. She watched as he twirled the knife, every time he called her pretty she felt more disgusted with herself, the confidence in her expression fell to carefully watching as now, she could feel the blade of the knife pressed against her skin. She wanted to throw a tantrum and kick him in the groin and push the blade away, but she was pretty sure that if she did that, it wouldn’t end in her favor.
Lily actually almost flinched when the blade slid across her skin, her hand quickly drawing up to see if she was bleeding but she froze. Her eyes locking on his with a mix of fear and anger, she ignored him mostly, she wasn’t going to be reminding her brother of anything to do with Connor, she knew how much her brother wanted out, but that’s when she smiled inwardly, a true torres idea began to brew in her mind. Her eyes jumped down as her bracelet was sliced off of her wrist. Now she was mad. “No. I am not going to tell him, A) he’d be pissed at me, and B) he could potentially do something that got him hurt. I don’t want that. However, seeing as your sooo good with that knife, maybe you could hurt me. Finally break the one bond that was keeping him with you.” While his voice was rich with an Irish accent, her voice was too tainted with living in America and trying to hide her heritage. Now Lily grinned, “The only reason he even got into the mafia is because of my idiot ma and to protect me. To do his best to try and keep you away from me, from hurting me, so go on. Do it. The only thing you’d really be doing is finally giving him the reason to finally turn on you. And we both know how good of a conman he is, I’m pretty sure he’d probably take quite a few people with him if he did turn on you.” She laughed, “We both know you’re not the most likable person in the world anyway.”
She looked down at her bracelet. “And you are going to get me a new bracelet.” She glared at him, more upset that he ruined her bracelet then he was actually threatening her brother or her life. Call it stupid or naïve of the girl, but right now she knew when it came to importance in her brother’s life Lily came over everything, and Connor and the mafia was probably dead last. She probably would tell him about what happened, though she’d structure it so she hadn’t lied to him, like she got done studying and some of her friends were at the carnival and invited her and while they went on another ride she went into the house of mirrors and Connor trapped her. At least then, she was still the innocent one. Though thinking about everything she had just said and done she realized first of all how big of a mistake she had made, and that she may not be so innocent, but then again she was just trying to get him to see she was stronger than he gave her credit for. Looking at him, she glanced past him. She could try to run, she could definitely try and looking at herself in a mirror for a moment, then back at him. Then she went for it, running at him she shoved herself into his shoulder and did her best to push past him.

incorruptible corruption fear will blind your mind the girl was smarter than she let on. granted, neil was intelligent, so it only made sense that his younger sister would be as well. their mother hadn't been the smartest cookie on the plate, but that was another matter. that didn't mean her children didn't inherit some intelligence from somewhere. neil was a valuable asset to him, and connor had kept a short, tight leash on him since he'd murdered his family and forced him into his service. he knew neil hated him for it, but he didn't care. as lily pointed out that she was the only thing keeping neil around, connor shrugged and pulled away from her, spinning the knife around in his hand as he smiled darkly. "while that's true, the moment he betrayed me, the entire irish mafia would be breathing down his neck, and he be a wanted man..." he pointed out, smiling maliciously. "regrettably for neil, there are other conmen out there, and losing him and who else... regan? let's just say it wouldn't be a great loss in the long run. killing you would be far more entertaining, but then i wouldn't have you to dangle over his head." he pouted playfully.
"you don't think i'm likable?" he asked, feigned incredulousness in his voice as he looked aghast at her. of course, he was only be facetious. he couldn't give a damn if he was likable. "unfortunately for your little family, i don't give a shit if i'm likable. i think your brother has given you false illusions of his grandeur, lass." his eyebrows tweaked twice and he shrugged, his eyes widening, as he mocked her brother with his words. he almost laughed out loud when she looked down at the ruined bracelet and back up at him with her impertinent glare, demanding that he buy her another. "if you want money thrown at you, lassy, i suggest you go try out at velvet revolver. you'll get more luck. why don't you try out the conman gene and weasel another one for yourself?"
leaning back against a nearby mirror, he was caught unawares when lily decided to run. hastily bending down to grab the bracelet, he turned and chased her through the mirrors. she was smaller and quicker than him in the tight confines of the maze, and he growled angrily as she reached the front door of the house of mirrors. launching himself after her, the knife already put away so no one outside would see it, he grabbed her and tightened his arms around her as she fought against him. the people clustered nearby were instantly alarmed, seeing the conflict, and connor simply smiled as he manhandled lily in his grasp. "it's alright, sis!" he cried in a triumphant tone, "i found your bracelet!" releasing her, he tossed it at her and then waved a small wave as if they were the biggest friends in the world. "no need to thank me or anything," he commented nonchalantly, his hazel eyes flashing a warning at her that she best not cross him again or the consequences would be far less... pleasant. he would never be so foolish as to attack her in public with so many people watching, and he knew she knew it. that was why she'd run. "ta for now!" he called as he turned and continued to the place he'd agreed to meet eli, "i'll be seeing you." he winked darkly at her and then disappeared into the moving crowd.
