Dex grew up fairly normally. His mother owned a dance studio and his father worked as a stock broker, so he and his siblings never wanted for anything except attention from their parents. They all took dance lessons to spend more time with their mother, but Tiffany was the only one who stuck to it. Dex always loved all things creative and wanted to do it all. He never really fit in, in high school, he was the jew fro’d trekie theater geek. However he never really cared, he liked who he was and just wanted to have fun. Dexter has had one girlfriend and she was one of his best friends in high school and they dated for three years. He loved her more than anything, but she didn’t feel the same way and ended up cheating on him with one of the most popular guys in school for the last year of their relationship. Things in Dex’s family took a turn for the worst when he was seventeen, his father had been having an affair with a nineteen year old and had knocked her up. Now he was saying he wanted a divorce from Kristina. Suddenly everything was upside down and even though none of the children were close to their father it was still a large blow to all of them. During his senior year no one would have guessed he just got his heart broken and his parents broke up all at once, he continued being very social able and active in theater and the school band, he even changed his hair which he hadn’t done since he was twelve. After Sophia was born they had a half-sister and a step mother that was only two years older than Dex and younger than his other siblings, even more disturbing Sophia had lived with Dexter’s mom for the last two years because his father and Jennifer are traveling the world, something Grant always promised Kristina he’d do with her. Dexter is super close with all his siblings including Sophia and babysits her often. At the moment he’s going to school for a Theater degree. At the moment he’s going to school for a Theater degree. He's spent his years of college filming impromptu web shows for youtube, acting in school plays, preforming at open mic nights, blogging and running a college radio show. Pretty much anything he can get his creative hands on and he's determind to have the best most totally awesome last year of college ever. caroline - 19 - gosh six-seven-ish years Hannah let out a sigh and looked around her room frantically. It wasn’t exactly the room of a typical teen age girl. Her walls were painted a sort of muted acid green; she had a black canopy bed frame without the canopy. And her bedding was a mix between greens, grays and black. One could easily guess what dear Hannah’s favorite colors were by looking at her room. Even though everyone always told her black wasn’t a color she’d still say it was one of her favorites along with green. There were accents of green and black everywhere, but not in an over bearing match-y-match sort of way. On the walls were framed comic book sketches that she’d acquired from her many visits To Artist’s Alley at Comic Con. Of course her comic book collection was shelved neatly, along with her book and video games. The only thing that told someone the gender of the person living there was the black vanity that was busting with make-up and hair things. It was the black vanities stool that Hannah was perched on now, she’d just filmed four different tutorials ranging from the wonderfully theatrical to the wearable for every day. Now her face was sore from talking off the various other looks, so she decided it was probably best to find something else to stomp her boredom. Course she’d read all her new comics that she picked up the last Wednesday already and nothing especially exciting was on TV… well if she enjoyed reality TV there would be, but alas she hated it with a fiery passion that burned deep within her soul. Yes, it was a dramatic way of expressing one’s dislike for something, but the word hate was so over used it’d lost all meaning to Hannah and she felt it no longer accurately described her own feelings for “reality” television or anything else that she had a fiery passion against deep within her soul. Like Miley Cyrus or the Jonas Brothers or… Bieber. Basically anything that was making billions of dollars off being ridiculously untalented and/or plain stupidity. She stood up and looked around her room again as if a better vantage point would suddenly give her an idea for something fun and exciting to do… no such luck. Walking out of her room her father waved at her asking if she was going to see Teddy. Her father loved Teddy; it was probably a little unhealthy how much he loved him. If she told her father she was going to leave Teddy for someone else he’d probably ground her and force the two of them into a marriage. Okay, again maybe not the most accurate way of saying it, but never the less her dear and wonderful father had given her a wonderful idea – visit Teddy at work. He always talked about how slow things were there on Monday nights anyway, he’d probably appreciate the company and she could pick up a movie while she was there too. She nodded at her father’s answer “yeah, I think I will” he shot her a beaming smile and reminded her again how much he liked him and sent her on her way. Once she reached the doors of them video store she opened it to find something that only Teddy could do while still holding on to some semblance of integrity. She crossed her arms and cocked her him out to the side and said in a very dead pan sort of way “wow, you really are a dork” shaking her head she spoke again “I think we have to end this” she said pointing her finger at herself and Teddy. Nodding for a couple moments she finally smiled and waited for him to come embrace her or invite her behind the counter, she didn’t know if behind the counter was like stepping on to a ship where you have to ask permission first.
