ORIGINAL. DETECTIVE. TWENTY-FIVE. THE LAW. PB: CLAIRE HOLT.
WELL, HELLO THERE, HOW ARE YOU?
um, i'm fine. i actually have a headache right now. can we get on with this?
I SUPPOSE THAT'S GOOD TO HEAR. WHAT SHOULD I CALL YOU? I MEAN, YOU PROBABLY HAVE A NICKNAME OR SOMETHING.
scout. it's just scout.
AND HOW OLD ARE YOU?
twenty-five, born on january the 9th.
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING?
i'm a homicide detective for the sapphire bay police. it's fun, at least in my opinion, and i get paid for it.
YOU KNOW, HAS ANYONE EVER TOLD YOU YOU LOOK JUST LIKE...
claire holt, yes, i know. and if i hear one more joke about vampires, i'm going to barf.
WHAT WERE THE LAST FIVE THINGS YOU BOUGHT?
chapstick, black socks, an ipod, gas for my car, and a straightening iron for my hair. i'm boring. so what...
IF YOU SHUFFLED YOUR IPOD RIGHT NOW, WHAT FIVE SONGS WOULD COME UP?
well, since i literally just bought it, there aren't even five songs on there, but i'll just wing it anyway. my favorite artists are cobra starship, 3oh!3, michael bublé, leighton meester, and katy perry. so... 'good girls go bad', 'touchin' on my', 'sway', 'somebody to love', and 'california girls'
THOSE ARE SOME GOOD SONGS...NOW, WHAT DO YOU HATE MORE THEN ANYTHING? LIKE, TOP FIVE HATED THINGS.
i absolutely loathe recklessness. i know that's more of a trait than a thing, but whatever. aside from that, i'd say i can't stand cats? they're cute - i guess - but they're so hairy and clingy and ugh. no. um, i don't like tornadoes, bad drivers, and people that play their damn music too loud in traffic. seriously? have some common decency, people.
AND YOUR FEARS?
my number one fear is ending up like any one of the victims i see every day. i'm not really afraid of death, it's more like the pain and torture that leads up to it that scares me. i'm scared of losing my job, and i'm scared of commitments longer than the line at starbucks. i guess i'm afraid of the usual things too like tornadoes and creepy old men... don't judge me.
THOSE ARE SCARY. NOW, TELL ME ABOUT YOUR FAMILY. WHAT ARE YOUR MOM AND DAD CALLED, AGES, ANY SIBLINGS AND SUCH?
my father, 'zap' as he's known, would be the only parent my brother and i had in our lives. my mother died in child birth with me and my younger brother, so we never knew her. my father was an ex-military man, discharged when my mother died and he had to take care of two children all on his own. he never remarried because, he told me once, he loved my mother more than he could ever love any woman. although he was hard on us, by society's standards, my dad made it obvious he loved us. next to him, my only relative i really know is my younger brother leo. well, 'younger' brother isn't technically accurate. leo is my twin, but i was born first, so i tease him about being my younger brother. it drives him crazy, and i love it.
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO WITH THE REST OF YOUR LIFE?
i'm already doing it actually. i've always been a curious person, and becoming a detective was my dream job since about second grade probably. other than that, i'd like to find someone i'd like to be with for longer than a week or two, but i wouldn't say i want to be married. don't quote me on that one.
INTERESTING...DO YOU HAVE ANY ANIMALS?
i've never been good with pets because i work too much and can't give them enough attention. i had a beta fish once, but he died.
ARE YOU SINGLE? BECAUSE I KNOW SOME PEOPLE MAY FIND YOU ATTRACTIVE.
is that so? i doubt it, considering i'm an old maid who is married to her job. yes, yes, i'm single. [rolls eyes] i've had a few relationships here and there, mostly in high school and college, but i've always been too focused on school or work to make a relationship last. maybe i'm just boring?
NICE TALKING TO YOU. HOPE I DIDN'T BOTHER YOU TOO MUCH.
of course you didn't. i'm a detective; i appreciate inquisitive personalities.
