basic common sense will get you far around here. first off, don't be rude to other members for any reason. there's never a good reason to be an ass to someone. this means, don't hound someone to reply to your thread or be a jerk because you didn't get ice cream after your dinner last night and you're just feeling sorry for yourself.

there's also no word count; just try to keep up with the people you're rping with. if someone posts a thousand words, don't respond with a tiny little paragraph.

your display name should be your character's first and last name in all caps like "BOB JONES".

there's no limit on how old your character can be, but please don't make him/her younger than 16. anything above that is groovy.

you can, ultimately, have as many characters as you want, but please be considerate of other members and potential members when creating characters. if you make more than about four characters all at once, the applications will be placed in the pending file until you've started threading with the characters you've created. we want active members not just a bunch of characters sitting around that have never been played.

as for face claims: actors, actresses, and models only. no myspace people. there have been some issues with a few of the more wellknown myspace folks who've had their pictures taken and used rather innappropriately and proboards is really cracking down on the use of their faces for rpgs and such. just stick to the famous people.

we have a reservation section on our face claim, but don't abuse it. you may only have 3 reservations at the time. just like the other rules on the site, this prevents us from hogging all of the pb's so that new members have no options when they come around.

there's no limit on images besides the fact that they can be 500 pixels wide at max and 600 pixels at the tallest. avatars aren't confined to a size as long as they're no wider than about 200 pixels. anything larger stretches the board. also, please make pretty pictures for your characters. a lot of work has been put into the site overall, and we like to see that you're doing the same on your end. if you're unable to make your own pics, feel free to request some at sites such as caution 2.0 and a thousand fireflies.

characters can cuss all they want to, but please don't walk around cussing everyone out in ooc boards. also, respect your staff. they do a lot to make your experience around here a pleasant one. please do the same in return.

when posting, we generally use the 'fade to black' rule when posting graphic material (such as sex scenes or murder or anything typically rated r). getting a little dirty never hurt anyone, but don't start posting porn. we don't want to get shut down as some sites have in the past. also, if you think a thread may get a bit more graphic, you may want to add a tag in the title to notify others in case they want to steer clear of the thread.

basically, just be awesome, and we'll love you like family. : )
