FASHION DESIGN MAJOR. the hottie no one can resist, mady has always been aly's best friend since freshman year of highschool back in newark, new jersey. they were inseparable and mady practically became part of the giancola family from how much she hung around them. known specifically as a "mean girl" with a soft spot for the italian family, she was considered the popular gal in school she got the perfect grades, was student council president, graduated valedictorian, and was the cheer leading captain. she won prom queen their senior year and homecoming queen all four years in a row. she was the girl everyone wanted to be and secretly envied because the boys lined up to have her and she easily jumped form one guy to another saying there was no reason she shouldn't spread the love. when allison got pregnant when she was fifteen, mady immediately took action and wanted to chop the guy's nuts off. she's very strong, independent, opinionated, and tends to be a bit egotistical and obsessed with perfection and beauty but she's always been a great friend to allison-through thick and thin-despite being much wealthier than the giancola family. she helped allison through as much as possible but then came graduation and allison had been taking night classes. mady graduated the top of the class and got accepted into a fabulously wealthy school in california. she kept in contact with aly and after hearing about the death of her son, convinced her to move out to california to start fresh. she is currently single, 21 y.o, studying to be a fashion designer, works as a model, and partially lives off her father's money. her biggest secret is that within the first two years of aly's marriage, she slept with noah by accident on a one night stand and she hasn't had the heart to tell her yet despite knowing very well that aly knows noah cheated on her with someone-she just doesn't know who. BROTHER . PERSONAL TRAINER. this is jo, the second to youngest child of the five giancola kids accidentally named after all the characters in the breakfast club movie by john hughes. he's a total sweety pie and more of a gentle giant than anything. in a way, he's mady's opposite but has a short temper despite being very similar to aly. he treats people generally the way he wants to be treated and he usually is full of smiles and epic advice on anything even if he hasn't experienced it. he's always been closest to aly out of all the siblings because they were both the youngest and close in age (though they are all in the twenties). he's always been very close to their father and is somewhat his favorite because he was always into sports and always known as a "champion." strong willed and secure in his sexuality, he's a bit more sensitive than the average guy. after finding out aly was pregnant back when she was fifteen, like mady he wanted the daddy dead but he was the only one who insisted on her keeping the kid because, like her, he didn't believe in abortion and that if anything, she could give the baby up for adoption. he was busy at the local community college getting a degree in personal fitness when aly's baby boy (named after john) passed away. he felt horribly guilty about it and feels he should have convinced her to give him up for adoption so she wouldn't get as depressed as she's become. he's always been in love with mady but has always been thrown into the friend zone but after hearing about aly going to california, he asked if he could come with. partially to keep an eye on aly (who he thinks might try to off herself one day) and also to be closer to mady. VICE PRESIDENT OF FATHER'S INVESTMENT FIRM. this is noah. he comes from a very prominent and prestigious new york city family that practically owns wall street. quick witted, intelligent, and arrogant, noah is everything any gal could desire. he has just the right amount of asshole and nice guy inside of him and more than enough skills and aesthetics to make both sexes drool over him. named the number one bachelor on the eat coast by the time he was sixteen, he met allison when he was eighteen. (how they met is in her application) he loved how she was so sweet and down to earth unlike all the crazy rich chicks he normally hung out with. despite her financial situation not being anywhere near the status he possessed living on park avenue across from central park, he liked the whole rebellious idea of the entire thing. she was spunky, a bit of a tomboy with a nice hint of a classy gal but soon enough, their hips grinding into each other late nights in the back of his town car, the roof of his penthouse suite, and virtually everywhere else led to allison getting pregnant. at first, he wanted to abort it. he had his entire life to live! he didn't want to give it all up over a chick and her baby. but realizing she wasn't just any chick, he agreed to keep the baby and even agreed when her parents said they should get married despite his own parents telling him not to. he didn't want to make her sign a prenup-but allison insisted she should just so she could prove she wasn't after his money and truly, he found himself falling for her...after the baby was born, though (named after aly's older brother john), he realized his internship at his father's office and schooling in columbia university was keeping him more and more away from his family that he really did love but always had such a hard time showing it. he saw aly as perfection personified because she seemed to so easily adapt to the lifestyle of mother, night school, and basically giving up almost everything for him to be able to pursue his own career and raise their baby. when their little johnny was a year old, though, aly walked in on noah late one night screwing around with mady-though because it was so dark, he was lucky she didn't get to see mady's face. still, it caused a large rift to come between them and he noticed she just grew...quiet and distant. but that wasn't the worst part. he was sent to england by his father and at the time, their son was sick with a brain tumor. while he was in england, he got a devastatingly heartbreaking phone call from john saying their son had died and he could hear aly sobbing and screaming in the background. despite trying to make it back in time for the funeral, his flight got delayed and he couldn't make it. when he finally got back, aly seemed to snap and she packed her things and just left without telling him where. since then, he's been sleeping around and being a workaholic, unable to handle everything going on and he's been seeing a therapist in order to put himself back together. recently, he got divorce papers sent to the brownstone he and aly lived in that he has been currently occupying and on it was aly's signature and a return address. determined to patch things up, he's come to california to find her and somehow make things right-he doesn't want a divorce and he's hoping she doesn't either.
