She shopped, ate, shopped a bit more, and then went dancing. The next day would be completely different. She'd wake up with a hangover and stay in bed, or she'd drink of couple thousand cups of coffee and then go out again. More than once she'd woken up in the bed of some other man she didn't even know the name of. Not than any of it bothered her. She liked her spontaneous life. It was exciting not knowing what would happen next. However, the one thing that always slipped her mind was growing up. One day she'd be the one left with her fathers company and with barely enough wit to run a household, she was sure to fail. Unless her act was cleaned up. It was such a tedious task though, and most of her family had given up, annoyed by her 'blondness'.
Today she was sobering up a bit to meet Charlotte. With that came black coffee and high heels though, just little things to make her feel a bit of normalcy. She didn't mind doing it however. Reese loved Charlotte to death and would do anything for the girl, and lunch never hurt anyone.
Slipping on a light jacket, Reese grabbed her new Coach purse and headed out onto the streets. Her car was out of gas, so she'd have to go on foot, but the restaurant wasn't far, maybe a block or two away. Smiling to the concierge who led her to a small round table for two, Reese sat down, scanning the menu over quickly. Though still a stick, the young woman ate more than a 300 pound man. She loved food, especially sweets. But raised by a nutrition-happy mother, Reese learned early to have something sustaining first. Now it was just a habit, and not a bad one at that.
Glancing over at the door every few minutes, Reese finally caught sight of her friend. "Charlotte!" She called, waving a manicured hand in the air. these dry bones cry for you |

Once again, the sheets were tucked in neatly like the day before, the pillows in the same position and the bed sheets cool. He had stopped coming around and she felt her heart drop to her stomach. It wasn’t fair, but she couldn’t exactly admit her true feelings. Charlotte had spent days and weeks saying how much she hated Porter, yet here she was, wishing he was next to her. This whole relationship was messed up; it wasn’t what she wanted. She wanted a normal and functioning relationship, yet that was the furthest thing from her right now. He was everything she hated and loved in a man and her heart was often breaking when she didn’t hear from him. She didn’t want him to be the one that got away.
But she shook her head as though the thoughts would disappear. No, not today. Today she would go out to breakfast with her best friend and pretend as though everything was alright. Maybe she would even get some dirt as to when and where her bachelorette party would be. That was what she wanted. Maybe there would be some male strippers and some cookies shaped as dirty body parts. She was sure that Reese, Shasta and Sevvie were pretty much finished planning everything, but she was also sure they would deny everything. That was how those three devils were. Sliding into a dress and shoes, she grabbed her purse and left her penthouse. The café wasn’t too far away so she opted for walking instead of wasting gas. Reese was probably already there, considering that Charlotte had once again overslept.
Her eyes scanned the crowd before falling on her blond best friend. She waved in return before making her way through the small crowd and hugged Reese. ”Reese! It seems so long since I’ve last seen you!” she said before pulling away from her best friend. Reese was flawlessly pretty and more often than not, she was jealous of her. ”Come on, let’s grab our usual table.” she grasped her best friend’s hand before pulling her off to the side where an outside table was. ”Ok, so tell me how your life is going. We haven’t had time to catch up in ages!” It was true; with the engagement and Reese always being out, it seemed like forever ago that Charlotte had had time to properly talk to her friend.
