The nerve. She couldn't believe it. He didn't even know her and he had flipped out on her. It wasn't like he owned the sidewalks unless she missed that memo. She hated those rich bastards. Everything was theirs and God forbid you were poor and walking among their midst. If you didn't bow down then you got brought down forcefully. Well Archer wasn't about to allow that to happen. So when he had told her to get out of the way in words that made her cringe, she hadn't moved quickly enough. And he had shoved her hard enough so that she had nearly lost her balance and fell. Her shoulder still hurt from where he had pushed her. But that wasn't the point. After she had mumbled something about him being rich followed by a name that wasn't in her usual vocabulary, it was like she had hit a fuse in him. He had attacked her with his words and she had been shell shocked into silence. Who did he think he was? Archer normally would have been able to say something in return but his words were so offensive and so hurtful that he had shut her right down. She was already self-conscience about herself and her state here, and that certainly did nothing to improve her personal opinion about herself.
So fighting back the tears, she had rushed past him and gone into the closest thing that was crowded so she wouldn't draw attention to herself. The mall. She could handle that. Everyone would be too busy shopping to pay any notice to the poor, scrawny girl walking along. Archer even looked poor. She wore jeans that had seen better days, and her black shirt was faded from years of washing it. Her tan jacket wasn't anything special either, having holes in it in only a few places because of how often she wore it. She couldn't help it. She could barely afford rent. Forget about a new wardrobe. Shaking her head, Archer just took a deep breath to settle herself. Her hands were trembling from the fright she had gotten from that encounter, and she was afraid. She really was. That guy had been cold and ruthless and she thought that he was going to hit her. She was still shaking as she entered a store that she felt would bring her comfort. A photography shop. Perfect. The tears started falling just as she walked in, and she kept her head down, her long brunette hair shielding her face from anyone in there.
If she didn't look up maybe the shop owner wouldn't pay her any mind. Taking a deep breath, she released it, trying her best not to choke out a sob. Why was she so frazzled by this? Because his words had hit home. And her shoulder hurt, and she just didn't know what else he was going to do about him. Reaching her hand softly up to her aching joint, she rubbed it softly, trying to bring it some relief. Nothing was working. Trying her best to keep her composure, she knew that it wasn't happening. The tears started streaming down her cheeks as she stood looking at a cabinet full of things she couldn't even identify through her tears. Reaching a shaking hand up to wipe her cheeks, she wished she could just disappear. Maybe this place wasn't for her. She was country born and raised and this just wasn't her scene. She'd never fit in. She was poor, she was quiet and she would never make a name for herself. This was such a mistake.

She won't ever get enough Once she gets a little touch ferris had decided to stay. he liked the seemingly quiet town of sapphire bay with its underlaid aura of badassedness. despite the look from the outside that it was just a small town with hardly any people in it, sapphire bay was a lot bigger once you got inside. it even had its own mall for goodness sakes, and that was the location he'd chosen for his photography studio. he would sell some of his photographs he'd taken over the years, and the studio would also offer custom packages for family sittings and children and even pets if people were crazy enough to want such a thing. he was sure there was someone out there living in the heights who needed a huge wall mount of their pomeranian.
for so long, ferris had taken his photographs alone with no one knowing he even enjoyed the hobby. he'd tried selling one or two on ebay, and that was when he'd realized other people actually enjoyed his work too. so, he'd silently started an ebay store and sold prints of his favorites, and he'd started making his own little nest egg. of course, he still had the money his father forced on him, but he tried his best to save it and refused using it. that money had actually bought him this store in the mall - since rent in the mall wasn't too cheap - and he had plenty to pay the rent for the next year probably. his own money could go to every day costs he had and he wouldn't have to depend on his father for anything in his normal life. it made him feel as if he was independent of his father even if the man had scarred him so badly that he woke up every day and went to bed every night praying he would never turn into the man.
standing in the back of his store by himself, since he had no employees just yet, he was busy adjusting a large print on the wall when he heard the door swing open and admit someone. who would be coming into an unopened store in the mall? it even had the paper still blocking out the windows so no one could see in. grumbling to himself, he went to investigate.
rushing out to the front foyer of the small shop, he waved his hands as he began speaking before seeing the customer's face. "no, no, no! we're not open--" he stopped and sucked in a breath as he realized who had just stumbled inside, "...yet." even though he hadn't known her long, and didn't know her well, he could tell archer was upset. girls weren't too hard to figure out when they were about to cry. he'd made girls cry too many times in his life not to know what it looked like. instantly, upon seeing her upset, he felt two simultaneous emotions. for one, he was angry at whomever had upset her in the first place, and secondly, he was befuddled that she had ended up in his store of all places. fate was obviously playing a joke on him. it was forcing him to work something out here, involving this girl. they'd accidentally run into one another far too many times for this not to be some sort of cosmic joke. despite how hard he worked to stay away from her, and everyone else, they were consistently pushed back into one another. so he figured he may as well accept it.
"archer..." he spoke flatly, hiding all of his emotions as usual. "what's wrong? and what are you doing here?" (ARCHER) (606) (SORRY IT'S SHORT! HOPE IT GOT THE POINT ACROSS )

Archer knew that she was feeling sorry for herself, but she just couldn't shake that from her mind. The fact that she hadn't even known the man who had said such cruel things to her had sent her into a daze. And the fact that things like that had happened to her all throughout her childhood and all throughout her life didn't help her case either. She had thought that she was strong enough to make it in this place but now she wasn't so sure. The people here were awful, especially if you were poor. And Archer was poor. She was poorer than poor. She was behind on her bills as it was and that awful man had just made things worse for her. Her heart was beating wildly in her chest as she tried to figure out just how in the world she was going to afford to live here. She was just at the point of a small break down when she saw the photography store. It didn't look quite finished, or opened, but she didn't care. Photography was her solace and she needed it.
She was staring at a rather expressive print when she heard a door open behind her. Feeling guilty, she refused to look around before she cleared her face of all of her tears. Wiping at them hastily, she blinked quickly, as if that was going to help her situation. She was blessed by the fact that she never looked like she was crying after she had cried. She never got the bright red nose or the flushed cheeks or puffy eyes. She simply just looked like her eyes were shining, which was perfectly acceptable. So as she wiped the tears away, she fought off the urge to cry some more as she turned quickly on her heel. She wasn't expecting who she saw and for a moment she wondered if she just wanted to see him so badly that she was imagining him. Looking as if she had seen a ghost, she stepped back from him, but her back end collided with the counter. Looking at him speechlessly, she tried to find the words to respond to what he had just said to her. What was wrong with her? What was she doing here? Her nerves came over her instantly and she felt the tears flooding her brilliant brown eyes once more. No. She wasn't going to cry in front of him. That was not going to happen. This was ridiculous. She was stronger than this. He had seen her at her worst every single time that they had met and she was tired of looking like such a weakling when she was in fact strong.
Taking a deep breath to steady herself, Archer looked up at him, trying to gain her confidence back. Setting her jaw, she finally brought her eyes up to him. "Ferris..." Her voice was filled with relief when she spoke his name and that shut her up instantly. Looking down and away from him, she turned away, her shaking fingers grasping at the counter that she had been leaning against. Refusing to look at him now as a tear escaped and slipped down her cheek, she became furious with herself. Looking up at the ceiling for a moment, she shook her head and then stepped back from the counter. She had to get out of here. He couldn't see her like this, "I-I'm fine. Just saw the photography and o-of course I had to come in here. Didn't realize you w-weren't quite open yet. I'm sorry. I won't waste your time. You're probably r-really busy and..." Her voice trailed off as it cracked and betrayed her. Covering her hand with her mouth, she stood there for a moment, knowing that she was shaking from the tears that were spilling down her cheeks. Why did this keep happening? Why did she have to meet him every time she was upset? It was like he was her knight in shining armor and that wasn't the case. He was angry the day they had first met, even after he kissed her. This couldn't be.

She won't ever get enough Once she gets a little touch when he'd decided to stay in sapphire bay, he hadn't taken into account that archer very likely lived here. maybe a small part of him wanted that to be the case (that they could 'accidentally' run into one another), but he would never admit it. why he'd kissed her after telling himself over and over that it was best if he left her alone, he would never know. there was something magnetic about archer to him, and he couldn't stay away from her even when he tried. either he would find her or she would find him. it seemed to be the way fate wanted it. so he would play the game if it killed him. he would let her know once and for all that she better leave him alone: even if they would be living in the same town for who knew how long. but then he saw her, her eyes shining with tears she hid well although not well enough, and the small part of him which allowed sympathy for other human beings began to ache.
the sound of his name on her lips affected him far more than he would have liked to admit, so he set his jaw and raised his eyebrows as if impatient for her to answer him. in truth, he didn't want her to go, but he knew if she stayed it would be hazardous for both of them. all he needed was for her to fall in love with him; that would be the end of them both. he was cursed on that road, and he didn't want to take anyone else down it with him. he'd had nothing but bad luck with love, and he didn't want to go there again. his own mother hadn't even loved him enough to stay around him, why should some girl want him? he'd had plenty of admirers over the years because he supposed he was relatively attractive to the female gender, but any relationship he had that went farther than first base or the first date always ended badly. he didn't know what to say to women, and he always ended up breaking their hearts. even when he put a conscious effort into a relationship, he would say something or do something wrong and it would fall apart into a million painful little pieces. he just knew he was too similar to his father to ever be successful in love. although he was an amazing photographer, when it came to the moving pictures of life, he was a failure.
archer began mumbling her apologies at stumbling into his shop, and he nodded curtly. seeing her again also reminded him of her snubbing him in the club where she'd sang so beautifully only a week before, and he couldn't forgive himself for allowing his barriers down. he'd been slightly drunk, so he hadn't acted as his usual self. he never would have followed her into the back room if he'd been in his right mind. so now, his embarrassment over acting the way he had - like a lovesick puppy - made him angry, and that anger showed in his face as he glared silently at her. "i am really busy actually," he replied curtly, turning his back on her. "you should be going now." she had succintly ignored his question about whether she was okay or not, so he shrugged it off. if she wanted to act that way, he could play that game too. he began walking off toward his dark room where he usually escaped from the outside world. it was dark and red and he felt it was a physical manifestation of his inner thoughts and emotions. he would be safe there, and he wouldn't have to think about archer and the way she made him feel like a foolish child when he looked at her beautiful face. What was she doing? Was she really going to tell him of all people that something was wrong with her? Why should she tell him? It wasn't like he was going to care. It was obvious that he didn't care like that about her. He had approached her drunk in the bar that one night and she hadn't wanted anything to do with him because he was drunk. That was not the kind of situation that she wanted to get herself involved in. That was not the kind of situation that she needed to be involved in. Definitely not. She had had enough let downs and drunken people in her life to last her a lifetime and she honestly didn't know how to handle it. She knew that she had offended him when she had left that night. She felt horrible for leaving him like that but he had to understand that it was for the best. He had made it very clear how he felt about her and whatever could be between them on the day she had first met him in the aquarium. Didn't he understand that she was just trying to make things easier for him? He had let himself down that night and she wasn't going to be responsible for anything that had happened at the bar because she was the sober one, not him. It could have all gone horribly wrong. She had protected him whether he wanted to see it that way or not.
And now she was trying to protect herself. But it was all blowing up in her face. She watched his face as she tried to get out what was bothering her. But she didn't want him to get involved. That was something that they both didn't need. She obviously cared about him and that scared her. She didn't even know him. Why should she feel the way that she felt about him? Because he had helped her that day in the aquarium. He had helped her when someone else would have just turned the other cheek. He had helped her even when he didn't have to and he had offered to pay for the ambulance when someone else would have said she was shit out of luck. He had cared. That was the whole point and the whole reason why she couldn't forget about him. The girl was so used to being pushed around her entire life, like that guy had just done, that she wasn't used to someone taking the time out of their day to make sure that she was alright. Staring up at him now, she was about to finally confess to him about what was bothering her, but then it all fell apart. He snapped in her face and looked positively agitated and irritated. Her jaw dropped slightly because she was about to speak, but instead had just lost her words. He was walking away? Just like that? She was about to tell him everything that had just happened and he just walked away?
She couldn't believe this place. All of these people felt like they owned the world and could do whatever they want. All of these people felt like they could just walk all over someone and use them dry. But Archer was tired of being used. Ferris had used her for some sick, twisted pleasure of his apparently. Kissing a stranger seemed all that he had set out to accomplish and Archer didn't even want to think about him anymore. But she also couldn't let him just walk away. That would mean that he won and she refused to lose. Setting her jaw in defiance, her expressive brown eyes smoldered and she took off after him. Seeing the door close behind him, she wrenched it open and closed it quickly, seeing that it was the dark room and knowing enough to keep the photographs safe. Stepping up to him, she looked into his face in the red light. "You! Who do you think you are!? Walking away again. Again! You can't just do this to people! All of you rich, selfish jerks think you can do whatever you want to someone! Oh, she's in the way? I'll just shout and insult and push her and it won't matter because she's poorer than poor and I could give two shits! Oh, I feel like kissing her? Sure, why not? I don't even know her but why the hell not?! It's not like it matters because she's nothing! I can't believe I let myself start to care for you, to fall for you. I don't even know you, and I certainly don't want to now! Busy my ass. Fuck you Ferris." She finished heatedly, caught up in the emotions she had been feeling from getting yelled at and shoved, as well as the confusion that she felt inside from all of this. Something had to give. And it had to give sooner rather than later.

She won't ever get enough Once she gets a little touch his dark room was his sanctuary. it was... well, dark... and he felt he could block out the rest of the bright, noisy world when he was in here. planting his hands flat on one of the empty surfaces in the room, he forced himself to take deep, calming breaths. he had to get archer out of his mind for good. screw fate. he'd rid himself of this interference with his perfectly solitary life. ferris had grown up an only child with nothing but his father - and his father's innumerous companions - over the years. he'd kept quiet about his anger toward his father for his horrible personality and his nameless consorts, and it had built up inside of him over the years. ferris was an angry young man, but he kept it all bottled up. he honestly didn't want to hurt anyone, but sometimes he would just snap and it would happen. it wasn't intentional, but it always hurt them. he had few friends for this reason, and even fewer successful romantic escapades. he was better suited to live alone in a mountain castle surrounded by singing household appliances than living in the real world where he could unintentionally piss people off.
growling, he angrily batted at the closest thing he could reach which just happened to be an empty container he used to soak photographs in. the container flew across the dark room, disappearing behind one of the many tables and clattering noisily to the floor. hanging his head and ignoring the stinging pain in his hand where he'd hit the metal container, he sighed loudly. why he was getting so upset about a girl he didn't truly know, ferris had no idea. something about archer just got beneath his skin, and her inquisitive, intrusive nature pestered the hell out of him. she was the first person to actually give a damn when he continually turned her away, and something about that intrigued him. while he was caught in his web of self-destruction and loneliness, always trying to run people off before he could get to know them and hurt them, she tugged at his strings and climbed right up in the spider's web with him. he was trying to protect her from his poison whether she understood that or not, but she was too hardheaded and stubborn to allow him to deny her. and she was damn well making him want to grab her in his arms and crush her lips with a kiss in the meantime. whenever he saw that determined little line between her eyebrows and heard her tepid curses, he just wanted to kiss her until the sun went down and came up again.
suddenly, light flooded in behind him, and he snapped out of his daydreams to spin and face the intrusion. the door slammed as quickly as it opened, and there she was. archer stood stolidly before him near the doorway, that stupid little line between her eyes and a hard glare searing into him. for a little woman, she sure could whip a man with her gaze. "what the fuck do you think you're doing?" he snapped, stepping toward her as she entered. "who do you think you are to storm into a man's private property?" she had invaded his dark room as completely and she had invaded his thoughts, and it steamed him. his anger was like a slow burn, and he hardly ever blew up at someone, but he could feel himself getting close to it now. You! Fuck you Ferris.
her tirade surprised him, as did her cursing. it did nothing to cool his anger, however. he was nothing like the other rich brats he'd ever seen or known, and he despised being compared to them. that was precisely the reason why he refused his father's monetary assistance and tried to make money on his own. he didn't want to be like the rest of them. he'd seen them in their limos and towncars wearing their prada and armani. they made him sick. and archer comparing him to them, grouping him up in a little incestual pond with those tadpoles, made him angrier. "i am nothing like those assholes. don't you dare compare me to them," he hissed, his voice low and dangerous and husky. with her eyes burning, glaring at him, she was extremely beautiful in the red light of the dark room. but he couldn't think about that right now. "i don't give a damn if you're poor. you're not nothing. i kissed you because..." he trailed off, his anger choking off his words as he stepped closer to her until they were almost touching. grinding his teeth together, he glared back at her. "... because i damn well wanted to."
suddenly, without his inclination, his hands went to her arms and he wrapped her in his embrace, pulling her into a desperate, lusty kiss. he was angry and everything about her irritated him, but he felt drawn to her as he had the time before in the aquarium. he couldn't explain how he was magnetized to her, and he didn't care. hot fury clouded his mind, and all he could think was how badly he wanted to kiss her again. he forgot about his plan to make her leave him alone. he just needed her, if only for today, right now. lifting her from the floor, he wrapped her legs around his waist and turned, setting her hastily on the empty place on the table created by the missing container he'd thrown across the room earlier. pulling her shirt off over her head, he kissed her lips and moved down her jaw to her neck, placing hot, angry kisses all over her skin. his self-control was gone. no longer could he resist her. (ARCHER) (1085) (I DON'T THINK I SUCKED THAT TIME! BAHAHA)

She couldn't believe that she was doing this. She couldn't believe that she had gotten up enough courage to follow after him when normally she would have just turned and walked way. But this was different. This situation required her attention. She was done letting him walk away from every situation they got into together. Enough was enough. They both needed to face the fact that they kept running into one another and there had to be some reason for that. She was not a believer in fate. She didn't think that things happened for a reason and she certainly wasn't going to start just because she ran into this young man a few times. Sapphire Bay was a small place. He was obviously settled down here and there was going to be a chance that she was going to run in him. It was the choices that they made through their days that got them to where they were. That was the end of that. So this...whatever this was...it was not fate. She wasn't meant to run into him. He wasn't meant to find her every time she was at her weakest point. That was a bunch of bull and she wouldn't stand for it.
So she went after him. She was making the choice to go after him because this wasn't fate. She was going to figure this out. If they wanted to be together than they wanted to be together. However that seemed to be jumping the gun here because she knew she was irritated and she knew very well that he was frustrated and angry as well. So when she heard the clang of a metal tray from inside of the dark room, she hesitated for a moment. Her hand lingered on the door handle, but she knew that she had to go in. It was now or never. Wrenching the door open, she slipped in the small crack she had made for herself and closed it quickly. Like she thought before, she wasn't going to make him more angry by ruining his pictures. Locking the door behind her, she fumed silently as she stared across at him and he started yelling. Who did she think she was? She thought she was a very confused and very frustrated young woman who needed to know what was going on. As he advanced towards her she stood her ground, her petite frame not much of a force against him. But she didn't care. If he wanted to shove her like that other guy had, then so be it. She was done just bending to everyone else's will and wants. "I think I'm the girl that you kissed without explanation and I deserve to know what the hell is going on here Ferris!" She snapped heatedly once more, watching him with fury in her eyes. The fire danced within them, illuminated by the red light of the dark room. While this room normally calmed her and gave her a peace of mind, it wasn't like that now.
It just made her more angry. Archer had to raise her head now because of how close he was to her and that made her slightly uncomfortable. She had been in these types of confrontation before and it never ended well for her. She was too tiny to hold her own against a guy. It had happened before and she was a bit terrified that it would happen again. She didn't think that he was going to lay a hand on her, but she had also believed that the others wouldn't have either. Looking up at him defiantly, she dared him to do something with her gaze. As he erupted in front of her about how she shouldn't dare compare him to those other rich snobs, she shook her head. "I dared Ferris. I compare you to them because that's all that I see." She said, her voice filled with hurt even though she desperately tried to hide that. He treated her like all of the others had. He used her and then he threw her away like she was some piece of garbage because she was poor and not worth his time. She got it, really. Why if affected her more this time than any other he was never going to know. Taking a deep breath, the young woman stared at him angrily.
But then he was closer than ever before and she heard his words. Instead of flinching like she had done in the past, she looked at him incredulously. He didn't care that she was poor? She wasn't nothing? This didn't make sense to her. He was angry...he didn't know what he was saying. He must have gotten his words all mixed up. That was it. Fuming once more, she was about to respond, but then his hands and arms were around her, pulling her close. Archer lost it then, her lips finding his in the heat of the moment. She had wanted to do this ever since that day in the aquarium, and her arms wrapped around his neck now, her fingers playing with the hair on the back of his head. Suddenly she felt herself being lifted up, and she moved easily with him, her thin legs wrapping easily around his slim waist. She clung to him as he moved her to the table, and she felt more support as he set her down. Keeping her legs wrapped around his waist, she parted from him only to allow him to removed her shirt. Her cold fingers played with the hem of his shirt and she brought it up slowly, her hand trailing along his stomach as she lifted it higher and higher. Soon enough she had it thrown to the floor along with her own shirt and she found his lips hungrily again. She tilted her head back slightly as his lips moved from her own lips to her jaw, then her neck. Her neck was her weak spot. It always had been, and her fingers tightened on his shoulders as he kissed her there, a small sound escaping her lips as he enlivened her more than she had been in quite a long time. This was what she needed. Even if it was just for a moment. She'd take it.

She won't ever get enough Once she gets a little touch this girl who he'd accidentally met at the aquarium and then run into when he was buzzed at a bar, this girl who got beneath his skin and wouldn't leave him alone no matter how hard he tried to push her away, irritated him more than any girl had before. she was stubborn and hard-headed, and sometimes (even though he'd known her at a distance for like a week?) he just wanted to shake her and tell her to leave him alone. but he knew, looking into the obstinance in her brown eyes, that that wasn't going to happen. she had a will like no one (man or woman) he'd ever met before. her willpower was a raw, almost tangible thing as it continually slapped him across the face and forced him to deal with the here and now. he didn't want to deal with that. he wanted to return to his life of solitude all wrapped up in his high tower that was his dark room and his photography.
and now, she'd invaded that part of him too. it wasn't enough that they both enjoyed the hobby, but she had to actually walk into the one room where he'd always been safe from all outsiders. he hid himself in the red darkness, and he concealed himself from the world. and now, she'd exposed him to an outside force as detrimental to him as bright white light was to the photography process. "if that's all you see, then you're as blind as a fucking bat, archer." he wanted to accuse her of being as shallow as all of those people she had just mentioned, but he wouldn't. he was heartless, but he didn't have the strength to argue with her further. all he wanted was to sink into the darkness around him and to be alone. but she wouldn't let his anger just fizzle out in loneliness. no, she had to invade his space and his mind and it pissed him off. how she had so completely taken over his every thought, and he'd only just met her, he hadn't a clue. part of him hated her for it, and another part of him thirsted for more. he was like a captive with stockholm syndrome who kept returning to his captors because he couldn't get enough when he should know better and should be running the other way.
so he found himself grabbing her in his arms and planting searing hot kisses on her cool skin. he lifted her, moved her, removed her shirt, and still that wasn't enough. his hot hands brushed her skin as she removed his shirt and discarded it with hers, and when he was free of the garment, he fell in to kissing her chest and her neck with a frantic speed like she was a drug he couldn't get enough of. "you're so... infuriating!" he hissed between kisses, his breath hot on her skin and her fingers like dry ice, burning his muscular arms as she touched him all over. "why can't... i get... you out... of my mind...?" standing back up, he looked into her brown eyes, red in the light of the dark room, with lust and passion in his gaze. gripping her face, he leaned in and kissed her heavily, desperately, angrily, his hips pressing into hers as she sat on the table. they were crushed against the wall, and to him there was just as much pain as pleasure, but he needed it. it wasn't a violent thing, but it was raw and visceral to him. it was the culmination of years spent alone to resist hurting anyone. he needed to feel that burn he hadn't had in... well... ever.
it seemed like hours later, when in truth it was only minutes, when he pulled on his jeans and handed her her pants. leaning back against the one bare wall of the dark room, he let out a deep breath and sank down to the floor in exhaustion. he didn't want to talk or cuddle or any of those things. part of him - a very large part of him - wanted to do it all over again, but part of him still wanted to crawl into a hole and shrivel up alone. as he saw her move toward her, assuming she wanted to strike up small talk with him, he rose quickly to his feet and tried the door to the dark room. his heart fell out of his chest as he found it locked. "did you lock this?" he asked, turning on her, no longer angry, just a bit panicked. "please don't tell me... you locked it." he said it flatly, knowing it was the truth. raising his feet, he slammed it into the door and thumped his head on the door. he took a moment to calm himself before he turned and glared at her, not as vehemently before, but with whatever fire he still had left in him after their recent romp. "i never lock the door from the inside because once the pin drops in, it's impossible to retrieve to get out." unfortunately, the locking mechanism was broken, and once it was turned and dropped into place, it was impossible to pull back out to unlock. therefore, he'd figured out when he'd first purchased the lot that he could only lock the door from the outside. he could lock the one on the outside and be alone and at peace in here, but if he locked the one on the inside, he knew he couldn't get out. such was the case now. his glare dropped as the truth about their predicament set in. it seemed fate had kicked his ass again. he wasn't going to be able to run from this, and he would have to deal with the awkward post-sex talk. he was screwed. This young man in front of her was absolutely frustrating to her. She had never been attracted to someone as much as she was attracted to him. She never thought she would feel this way for him, especially after their encounter in the aquarium. He wasn't her type. She wasn't his type, that much was obvious. She saw him with some drop dead gorgeous, blonde bombshell that could handle his temper and his fire. Not her. She was timid unless provoked, and her innocence was something that would be far too east to corrupt by someone like him. She had stayed clear of his type because she knew that it was safer for her. However fate seemed to have a different idea for her and for him. This was some sick joke. It just had to be. The fact that they always ended up had to be someone playing a prank on them. It was the only thing that made sense to her.
Staring heatedly at him now, she wondered why in the world she had to be in this situation. What had she done? Why did she have to be tortured? Sighing in frustration, she listened to his harsh words but she realized she didn't have the will or the want to argue with him anymore. He had left her drained. That was the only way that she could explain it. Taking a deep breath, she exhaled softly and was really about to leave before everything spun out of control. They crashed together in a fit of fiery passion, and as she worked to remove his clothes she knew that this couldn't happen fast enough. As he kissed her, she lost herself in him. This was what she needed. It was an escape from the stress that filled her life and she couldn't get enough of him. It was almost as if they were using one another and for now she was alright with that. However the attraction she felt for this person in front of her was like nothing she ever felt before. As his lips trailed up and down her body, Archer's skin felt like it was on fire. The chills ran up and down her spine and her skin raised from the sensation. Goosebumps littered her petite frame, and she couldn't stand his heated kisses for much longer. A small moan escaped her lips as he continued, and Archer pushed him back for one moment after he spoke through his kisses. "I....need...you." Her brown eyes, normally so expressive, were now filled with nothing but lust and want and need, and passion. She needed him. Her breathy tones were a clue to exactly what she wanted and needed. Her fingers flew to his pants and she wasted no time in removing them. And after that, well it was everything that she had hoped for. After that, they continued using their passion and their anger for something they both desperately needed to do since day one.
After what seemed like hours passed, Archer was tugging her pants on, having been handed them from the pile with the rest of her clothes. Reaching for her shirt now, she was about to pull it on when he seemed to have a minor freak out moment. Looking up in confusion, she didn't even have time to put her shirt on before he started freaking out at her. How was she supposed to know that she wasn't supposed to lock the door? Seeing his look as he turned on her, she stood for a moment, speechless, and then hurriedly pulled her shirt on so that the situation wasn't even more awkward than it had to be. This wasn't the kind of girl that Archer was. She just didn't hook up randomly in a dark room in the middle of the mall in all places? Oh gosh, she was a regular slut. Closing her eyes for a moment to keep herself from panicking, she looked at him with fear in her eyes."WHY would you have a lock that's broken? What..this...How was I supposed to know?!" Her voice raised and cracked in her panic. She couldn't face him now. She couldn't. Not after what had just happened. The fire in her from before was still in her heart, but she didn't know how to make it overcome the fear that she felt at being trapped with him. "Is this a joke? This isn't funny...you've got to be kidding. A lock that doesn't work? Really...no. It's.." She looked up at him incredulously and rushed to the door, turning the handle and shaking it. No, no, no, no. This couldn't be happening. Panic settled over her now and she had no time to realize how awkward he was feeling for being stuck in this room with her as if she was to blame for what had just happened. "Ferris!? How do we get out?" She was petrified that she was going to have a panic attack and she just didn't want that to happen.

She won't ever get enough Once she gets a little touch he tried to allow his panic about being locked in the room with her overwhelm him so he wouldn't notice her flat stomach or her brown hair that was now slightly damp from having sex with him. her shirt was forgotten as she realized their predicament, and then she was yelling at him. "i'm usually the only one in here, archer," he snapped. "and i know not to lock the damn door. so why would i get it fixed when i never expected anyone else to come in?" he smiled a dangerous, dark smile and slammed his fist into the door to reiterate his words. sighing heavily and shaking his head, he thumped his forehead against the door as she ranted about him having a disfunctional door in HIS photo shop. turning to look at her, his forehead still resting aginst the door, he snorted. "do you ever just shut up?" he asked sardonically, standing up from the door and backing up to look at the ceiling. the lighting in the room was so red he had a hard time focusing on the roof, but his eyes were slowly adjusting the longer he looked. "trust me, i don't find this funny. i don't want to be stuck in here any more than you do." as he looked at the ceiling tiles, he found one a bit loose, but he knew he could never reach it. unfortunately, it also happened to be near the door, so there were no tables close enough to stand on to reach it. the room was growing hotter by the minute, and it smelled like the sex he was trying to put out of his mind to no avail.
looking over at her, he knew what they would have to do, but he wished it wasn't so. sighing to himself, he pointed up at the ceiling so she could see the tile he'd found. "you're going to have to climb through and open it from the outside," he pointed out. "and before you argue, obviously you can't lift me up through the roof, so you're elected to save us from this predicament, beauty." the nickname had come to him suddenly, but he figured it fit her. if he was the beast, that made her beauty in this situation, right? he couldn't admit to liking being forced to depend on someone else to get him out of this, but he was going to have to. since he'd left his cellphone in his office, he had no way to call out and get someone to open up the room. besides, he knew the rumors that would start when the locksmith came and picked the lock to find the two of them in a room that smelled very obviously of what they'd been doing in it.
bending down, he allowed her to place her foot in his hand, and he easily lifted her toward the ceiling. however, he pushed her too fast, and she began to lose her balance. as she started to fall, his heart leapt in worry, and he momentarily thought he'd done it again. he'd hurt someone. but thankfully, he reacted quickly, his arms opening to cradle her as she fell. he caught her and suddenly they were face-to-face. his eyes grew wide as the shock overwhelmed him and gradually faded, and he didn't hide the relief he felt that she hadn't fallen and hurt herself. "are you okay?" he asked, setting her down on the floor. "i'm... i'm sorry." reaching out, he brushed a wild strand of her brown hair out of her face and then stepped toward her. although the awkwardness he'd created was still there, being locked in the room forced him to face his feelings. he reached out and gently touched the side of her face, leaning down to kiss her softly on her lips. he wasn't good with words, he never had been, but he wanted her to know he didn't want to hurt her. if and when he did, it wasn't intentional. he just hurt people. it was a character flaw, something he'd inherited from his father, and he hated himself and his father for it. he was doomed to failure when it came to caring for people or having them care for him. Clutching her heart as she stood across from the door, she looked at him, the fear clearly visible in her face. Her face was flushed from what had just happened between them, but it paled instantly at the realization of being trapped in this tiny room forever with Ferris. She looked at him and then back at the door, and then to him again. This had to be a joke. There was no other explanation for it. That or fate had a pretty sick, twisted mind that Archer didn't want to be a part of any longer. Her eyes searched wildly for a route to escape by but there was nothing. This was a dark room obviously. There were no windows, no cracks, no nothing that would let in light because that would ruin the pictures. It smelled of the chemicals used to process the photos and of course sex. She didn't know what to do with herself at the moment and the panic was threatening to take a hold of her all over again at any given moment. Sucking in a sharp breath, she looked at him as he snapped her once more. She was getting real tired of his attitude issues.
As he asked her if she ever shut up, Archer's eyes smoldered. She crossed her arms in defiance and agitation and looked at him with hatred in her eyes. She not only shut up, but she shut down. If he was going to be rude like that then he could find his own way out of this stupid room. She would just wait here. Someone would come looking for one of them right? Someone had to know of them. But as she thought about it, she realized that she was relatively new to town and he didn't seem like a regular here either. So that wasn't going to happen. Her heart leapt at that realization, and not in a good way. It started beating wildly and Archer felt like she was trapped all over again. Trapped in a situation that would only cause harm to her and anyone around her. Her breath came in short gasps for a moment and she closed her eyes tightly as he continued to find a way to get out of this forsaken room. She was reminded of the tiny space in the car that she had been trapped in, left to die. She was going to be left here to die as well for no one would ever find them. Her brow furrowed as the memories came flashing back to her, and her face flushed as she became extremely short of breath. She couldn't have another one in front of him. She just couldn't. That was a sign of weakness and she was sick and tired of looking weak in front of him. She wasn't weak. She hated that people thought she was because of her attacks. But this wasn't an attack. She wasn't going to let it be now.
Straightening up from the position she had been in, she tried regulating her breathing but it was just getting harder and harder. She really needed to start carrying her inhaler around, especially if she was going to be involved in these kinds of situations with him. But then he was suddenly turning to her, looking at her and then up at the ceiling. Momentarily distracted from her labored breathing, she heard his words and looked at him incredulously. What, did he think that she was afraid? She just didn't trust him to get her up there safely. That was all. Looking at him apprehensively, she didn't open her mouth to argue. He had asked her if she ever shut up, so she was done with speaking for now. Trying to still get control over her panicked state, she looked at him and then stepped into his hand as he cupped it for her. Using his shoulders for balance, she was trying to get herself situated but then he lifted her up very quickly. Archer swayed, her hands reaching to the ceiling to try and brace herself so that she wouldn't fall. But the loose ceiling tile only pushed upwards, falling downwards because of the angle she had caught it at. At the same time, she fell, closing her eyes and thinking that this was going to hurt. But that pain never came. Strong, warm arms enclosed around her petite frame, and she was suddenly looking up into concerned, bright blue eyes.
He wild brown eyes fought to find comfort in his gaze even though she would never want to admit that. He had caught her. He hadn't let her fall. He hadn't let her get hurt and that meant the world to her. "T-Thank you." The fear and the shock were raw and evident in her shaking tone, and her trembling fingers were clutching to his shirt from the rush of the oncoming panic attack and from the fall. She wasn't going to have an attack now, thank goodness, she settled down as he placed her onto the ground gently. She stayed near him, needing him for support at the moment. Her knees were shaking from the sensation of falling like that and as hard headed as she was, she didn't want to admit that she was afraid. But she was. Looking up at him, she nodded in response to his question as he tucked a loose strand of her brown hair behind her ear. "F-fine. I'm fine." It was clear that she was shaken up, but she was trying to be strong. Her words were lost as he leaned down to kiss her softly, and she was touched more by his gentleness than anything else. The awkwardness of the situation seemed to lessen as she stepped closer to him, using any excuse that she could to be near to him now.
