She didn’t have a million guys lusting after her, hell she didn’t even have a boyfriend. It sucked in a way but there was no way she could have gotten over her brothers death by remaining the same, things had needed to change and they had changed it just happened to be for the worst. She was an extremely friendly girl if not too friendly.
She had very little shame, so maybe her eccentric nature was something that would put people off, she wasn’t afraid to be loud or out there and in this kind of society that wasn’t accepted. It especially wasn’t accepted when you were completely sober and in a learning environment but Jess kept well away from alcohol and drugs, she’d seen it destroy one life and she’d be damned if hers went down the same path. It was difficult to make friends with studnets who didn’t completely base their life around partying and maybe that was why she had such a hard time finding friends. Her roommates were forever out partying and she understood the pull of it because that had been her once, but now? She’d seen the badside to partying and it was something she never wanted to see again. Her class had just finished and after sitting in the art room for almost four hours now she was in desperate need of some exercise, she had ran up to her room and quickly changed into her jogging gear.
She knew in her current tank top and tracksuit bottoms she’d be a little bit cold but she knew once she got started she would soon warm up, winter wasn’t gonna stop her from getting her exercise in she loved it way too much. She ran around the campus her feet pounding against the slightly frosted ground as she ran faster, it was her release any stress from the day could just be ran off the faster she ran the better it felt. It was like her problems just couldn’t keep up with her but the world wasn’t going to ever know this, to them she was just someone who enjoyed exercise a lot, they didn’t know she went much deeper than that. As she ran through all of the people she noticed a familiar curly haired boy just upfront, it took her maybe 3 seconds to realise that it was Dexter and a further two seconds to decide what she was going to do.
She could have just ran past him but their relationship didn’t work like that, they were always trying to out random each other and even though the campus was extremely busy today that wasn’t going to stop her from acting like a five year old. The beauty of it was, she knew that Dex would only join in with her fun, he wasn’t going to yell at her or bitch to her. He would enjoy it, she had faith. She got closer to him taking a deep breath and running just a little bit faster until she finally pounced, she leapt off the ground jumping onto his back and wrapping her arms and legs around him tightly. “Is it a bird? Is it a plane!? NO. It’s Jessica Harlow!” She laughed only hoping that it actually was him, as she jumped down from his back moving so she could stand infront of him smiling brightly. “Thank God it’s you. That could have got real ugly, real quick.” She laughed thinking about what could have happened if it actually wasn’t Dex.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: d3d3d3; width: 370px; padding-top: 12; padding-bottom: 20;]What are you waiting for , Take a bite of My heart tonight. Dexter hadn’t had a solid girlfriend since his junior year of high school, something about him made people think he wasn’t boyfriend material. Maybe it was his flair for the dramatics or the fact that he was a totally bonkers dork fest. As he stood talking to his fellow play members he tugged at his curls, he’d just come out of an audition for the school’s musical of Moulin Rouge. He’d be happy to get a bit role; he never expected a lead because he simply didn’t think he was lead material, if he got a lead he just figured they had a slow turn out or something. One of the girls who was sure she got the role of Satine was musing about how wonderful her costumes were going to be and how she only hoped her male lead could keep up with her vocally. Dexter couldn’t help but make a face as the girl began to stroke her own ego further. The small group of drama kids seemed to dwindle with each word she said before she finally followed the crowd leaving Dexter and a couple of his friends Clyde and Karen behind.
“If there is any justice in the world she will not get Satine” Clyde said with a flamboyant wave of his hand as he rolled his eyes, Karen followed him before Dexter spoke“come on guys, she was good” Karen nudged him roughly “The fact that she thinks she already has the role makes her deserve to have her hopes dashed when someone like me gets it instead” Dexter smiled and shook his head “you guys are so catty, wouldn’t you be just as happy to just be a cancan dancer?” Karen and Clyde looked at him as if he’d said something greatly offensive and he’d forgotten that to them a comment like that was offensive. “I’m sorry” he said simply, apologizing mostly because he felt the need to rather than actually being sorry. “well a couple of us are heading to Starbucks if you’re interested” said Clyde.
Only moments later found himself startled and surprise as he let out an appropriate sound of reaction, when he was informed of who the crazy person that had just jumped on his back was, he wrapped his arms around her legs and spun around making plane sounds. “true” he nodded as she jumped off his back and spoke “on the other hand I’m not sure many guys would mind having you on their back” he said with a wink and a smile. Both Karen and Clyde made gagging sounds “we’ll see you later” Clyde said as both of them waved, Dexter waved goodbye to them both “That’s Clyde and Karen by the way”he said with a smile. He would have introduced them, but they were gone before he thought about it. Dexter wrapped his arms around Jessica pulling her into a hug “how are you not freezing?” he said as he vigorously rubbed her back as if he were trying to warm her.
Dexter was a true California boy and whereas some people may not be fazed by the temperature drop he felt the need to layer up. He pulled away leaving only one arm wrapped around her shoulder, he gave the blonde another tight squeeze as he said “so how’s my Harley Quinn anyway?”. Harley Quinn had been his little nickname for her since they met as he felt she’d play the kooky Hench girl quite well. To be honest Dex often lived in movies, he thought about what beloved characters people could play, the fact that Jessica was a blonde haired, blue eyed kook with the last name was Harlow, made it anything but impossible for him to bestow her with the nickname Harley Quinn, course it wasn’t one of those nicknames used so much that people actually thought that’s what her name was. With the knuckle of his index finger he pushed up his hot pink sunglasses and smiled at the blonde standing next to him, he was never unhappy to see her, quite the contrary actually.
