"Poo brain!" Allison quietly scolded herself for being late. Normally, she was a very punctual person but today didn't seem to be going well for her. Running to the taxi in large pumps was hard enough and she was putting on a matching blazer at the same time. She was leaving her internship as a student teacher and before that, she had worked the night shift over at Francesco's plus she had to clean two very large apartments in between. She thought having two jobs and school wouldn't be this bad but when advisement threw at her that it was time for her to start her student teaching, she nearly fell over from exhaustion. A week ago, she'd been easily screwing her former ex husband in the backseat of a truck and since then, she'd been racing around trying to keep up with everything and she truly was exhausted. She was supposed to meet him at the mall at what time again? Thirty minutes ago. She'd sent him a text that she was just running late-she wasn't going to bail. No way. She wanted-no- needed this to work out or she knew, deep down, she'd probably give up on the idea of love all together. She didn't wear anything fancy since she only changed out of her pencil skirt into some jeans and added a blazer. Blue top, red blazer, navy skinny jeans, red pumps, and simple accessories. Her hair was up with a pen and she quickly let it out to its natural loose curls state. As the taxi reached the entrance of the mall, she felt like she was fifteen again, attempting to meet up with Noah at the mall for a little bit of shopping just for the hell of it. He used to like spoiling her even if she protested heavily against it and she didn't expect him to spoil her now. She bought her own things with her own hard, very hard, earned money-though lately most of it went to rent, food, and paying off as much of her school loans as possible before she graduated. At least now she had three jobs and it was fairly easier to keep up with payments without falling behind at all. Paying the taxi driver she called out a quick, "Thank you!" over her thin shoulder. Her pencil skirt was folded into a very small rectangle in her over sized clutch and she took a quick glance in the reflection of a window to see if she looked okay before rushing into the mall, pushing her over sized sunglasses over and on top of her head. Food court. No, he didn't say to meet at the food court. The large fountain? Yes, the large fountain which was...on the other side of the mall, "You've got to be fudging kidding me," by then she was forty five minutes late and she was having a panic attack over it. She hated being late. It ate away at her-because she knew what kind of impression that made and she didn't like people keeping her waiting either. Thinking for less than thirty seconds, she figured out the quickest way to the fountain and easily made her way through shoppers with that usual grace of her's. Soon enough, the the Red Sea parting for Moses, she saw him standing there looking at his phone and she let out the air she hadn't realized she'd been holding in. She was glad he hadn't left and given up. Knowing how Ali was, she had a thirty minute rule. Didn't show up or tell her you would be late after that? She left. She had no problems with it either-her mother and father told her it was like that anyway. With ease, she took her time a bit more as she walked over to him more so to catch her breathe than anything. She regretted wearing heels-she hated them anyway. She preferred sneakers, flats, or boots but she wanted to look nice and she figured heels made every outfit look nice. It was what separated this from her being fifteen and now twenty one. When she was fifteen, she was all about loose fitted tops and loose jeans with sneakers. She had been a total tomboy and that honestly hadn't changed until she'd had Johnny and then she had to suddenly become this feminine housewife...and it just sort of stuck...in public at least. At home, she still wore her favorite sweats and hoodies like they were her comfort blanket, "I'm so sorry I'm late," she immediately started trying to explain herself when she reached him in all his handsome glory, "Francesco's kept me late and then it took longer than usual to clean the apartment on Petunia, and then Henry's mother was running late because of traffic so I had to stay with him until she showed up, " she was rambling but she couldn't help it. She really did feel horrible about it, "Then Ms. Lafayette took forever to print out the teaching schedule for next week and the subjects I had to cover and it was just..." she took a deep breathe and sat down at the bench right next to them, slumping over a bit, "in-fudging-sane."And she was exhausted...but she showed up-so she obviously was going to see this through even if it killed her. click for outfit |

for broken hearts
BEING IN THE MALL AGAIN MADE NOAH FEEL LIKE A TEENAGER ALL OVER AGAIN. IT HAD BEEN A WHILE SINCE HE'D BEEN TO THE MALL FOR ANYTHING. HE WAS USED TO SHOPPING ONLINE NOWADAYS, OR SENDING ONE OF HIS ASSISTANTS TO GET SOMETHING FOR HIM IF HE NEEDED IT. BUT NOW, AFTER STAYING IN TOWN FOR A COUPLE WEEKS TO BE WITH ALLISON AGAIN, HE WAS RUNNING OUT OF CLOTHES TO WEAR. SO HE'D INVITED HER ON A SHOPPING TRIP WITH HIM. EVEN IF SHE'D ALWAYS BEEN A TOMBOY, SHE WAS A WOMAN, AND INNATELY THEY HAD A BETTER SENSE OF STYLE THAT MEN. HE KNEW SUITS, BUT CASUAL WEAR HE WAS AT A RELATIVE LOSS. STANDING IN THE CENTER OF THE AISLE, BETWEEN THE TWO MOVING STREAMS OF TRAFFIC, NOAH STARED AROUND THE MALL AND HAD TO ADMIT HE WAS IMPRESSED. HE'D BEEN TO A MALL OF AMERICA BEFORE, AND THIS MALL IN THIS SMALL SEASIDE CALIFORNIA TOWN HAD TO BE AT LEAST AS LARGE AS ONE OF THOSE. HE SUPPOSED ALL OF THE RICH ASSHOLES LIKE HIMSELF NEEDED OPTIONS WHEN THEY WANTED TO GO SHOPPING. THE THOUGHT MADE HIM CHUCKLE.
HE'D BEEN IN THAT ELITE 'ASSHOLE WITH MONEY' CATEGORY SINCE HE WAS BORN. HIS FAMILY HAD BEEN WELL OFF FOR AS LONG AS NOAH COULD REMEMBER, AND HE'D NEVER HAD TO WORK FOR ANYTHING. GRANTED, IT HAD MADE HIM SPOILED AND TURNED HIM INTO A SELFISH LITTLE PRICK BY THE TIME HE WAS IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, A BAD HABIT HE STILL HAD TO WORK AT AT TIMES. HE HAD A TENDENCY TO GET ANGRY STILL WHEN HE COULDN'T GET EXACTLY WHAT HE WANTED. MONEY MAY NOT BUY EVERYTHING, BUT IT COULD DAMN WELL GET YOU CLOSE.
SO CAUGHT UP WAS HE IN HIS DAYDREAMS THAT HE DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE ALLISON WAS RUNNING LATE UNTIL HIS INNER CLOCK TOLD HIM IT SEEMED HE'D BEEN STANDING HERE FOR A WHILE. PULLING HIS PHONE OUT OF HIS POCKET, HE CHECKED THE TIME AND THEN HE HEARD HER FAMILIAR VOICE COMING UP ON HIS RIGHT. GLANCING UP, SOMEHOW EXPECTING TO SEE THE SAME TOMBOY DRESSED IN HER SWEATS AND LOGGING BOOTS, NOAH'S BREATH WAS TAKEN AWAY AS HE SAW HER. THE NIGHT OF THE MASQUERADE WAS DIFFERENT - THEY'D BOTH BEEN DRESSED UP FOR THE FORMAL OCCASION - THIS WAS EVERY DAY LIFE. HE WASN'T USED TO THIS SEXY BUSINESSWOMAN WHO APPROACHED HIM. AND HE LIKED IT. HE KNEW SHE HATED HEELS, BUT THEY MADE HER A FEW INCHES TALLER, ALMOST CLOSE TO HIS HEIGHT BUT NOT QUITE. HE SMILED AS SHE SANK DOWN ON THE NEARBY BENCH, JAMMERING ON ABOUT WHY SHE WAS LATE AND CATCHING HER BREATH. SLIDING DOWN NEXT TO HER, HE SLID HIS ARM AROUND HER AS IF THEY WERE AS COMFORTABLE AS OLD TIMES. CONSIDERING THEY'D ADMITTED THEY STILL LOVED ONE ANOTHER THE OTHER NIGHT, HE SUPPOSED HE COULDN'T ACT TOO SHEEPISH AROUND HER.
"I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE YOU WERE RUNNING LATE UNTIL YOU TOLD ME," HE ADMITTED, KISSING HER CHEEK AND THEN LEANING HIS HEAD BACK SLIGHTLY SO HE COULD WHISPER IN HER EAR. "AND YOU LOOK DAMN RIGHT FUCKABLE IN THIS OUTFIT. I THINK WE NEED TO MAKE A NEW MEMORY REAL QUICK BEFORE WE START SHOPPING." THE GOOD THING ABOUT HAVING KNOWN ALI FOR SO LONG, AND BEING MARRIED TO HER FOR A LOT OF THAT TIME, WAS THAT HE DIDN'T HAVE TO TAKE THINGS SLOW WITH HER. HE DIDN'T HAVE TO GET TO KNOW HER LIKE OTHER MEN HAD TO GET TO KNOW THEIR WOMEN. THEY DIDN'T HAVE THAT AWKWARD DATING PHASE TO GO THROUGH BEFORE THE SEX. NO, THEY COULD SKIP THOSE AWKWARD MOMENTS.
GRABBING HER HAND, HE PULLED HER OFF OF THE BENCH AND LED HER TOWARD THE BATHROOM HE'D SEEN OUTSIDE OF ONE OF THE DEPARTMENT STORES ON HIS WAY IN TO THE MALL. THE HALLWAY OUTSIDE WAS DESERTED, AND HE KNOCKED AND THEN OPENED THE DOOR, PULLING HER IN QUICKLY BEHIND HIM. PUSHING HER UP AGAINST THE WALL, HE RAN HIS HANDS UP HER SIDES AND SMILED MISCHIEVOUSLY DOWN AT HER. "I MISSED YOU," HE CONFESSED, LEANING IN TO KISS HER LUSCIOUS LIPS. "HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GET YOU, NAKED IN THE FRONT SEAT OF THAT DAMN TRUCK, OUT OF MY MIND?" HE'D HAD DREAMS ABOUT THE OTHER NIGHT, IT WAS TRUE. IN A WAY, HE'D BEEN OBSESSED WITH HER ALL OVER AGAIN, PERHAPS EVEN MORE SO THAN WHEN HE'D FIRST MET HER. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(); width: 400px; padding-top: 30; padding-bottom: 30;] KISS ME AT THE GATE
When he leaned in and kissed her cheek, she somewhat leaned more into it, turning her face a bit right after to leave a peck on his lips. She felt comfortable around him, which she liked. It wasn't like with Malachi where she had to walk on glass because she didn't like bringing up her past all that much. No, Noah knew her, for the most part, inside and out. She had yet to exactly sit down and tell him what she'd been doing for the past year and a half they'd been separated and vice versa though she was pretty sure he'd been working most of it-being the workaholic he was when they were living in New York City. However, despite loving Noah, she did prefer, at the moment, not living with him. That was probably going to be the big determining factor when the time came. If it was too soon, Allison knew she'd probably freak out in some odd way and just up and leave again. They had to take it easy. Moving in together was the last thing she currently wanted since it complicated everything. This, right here, was nice. Meeting up, going on dates, being spontaneous and just having fun with it-rolling with the punches as her father used to say, something she eventually started saying herself. It was a Giancola staple. She was surprised he liked her outfit. She wasn't aiming to look fuckable. She just didn't have time to change her attire after work other than into some jeans, really. She thought she looked over dressed for an afternoon in the mall but if he liked it, who was she to argue? She bit her lower lip while smiling up at him in that way she always did before he was leading her off into a bathroom by a department store. She didn't hesitate to follow-she was all game if he was and he obviously was by the growing bulge between his legs. She felt the small of her back hit the wall and her hand darted out to make sure the door was locked quickly. She accepted the kiss graciously, one long leg moving up to wrap around his waist and keep him pressed tightly against her. She could already feel her heart racing as he spoke and she chuckled before a devilish smirk appeared on her face. Leaning in, she nipped at his neck playfully before letting her tongue dart out to take in his earlobe, "You don't," she said it in that sultry tone of her's only she was able to master when under Noah's spell and with ease, her hand had been undoing his belt and jeans before slipping under the hem of his layers to grab his glory. She bit his lower lip while she smirked,her eyes remaining locked onto his. She'd thought about that night in the truck whenever her mind wandered, dreamt about that carefree feeling that had flowed through her and caused her to do such a thing. She day dreamed about his body pressed against her own, about old memories and new ones...and how she really wanted to make new ones. With a swiftness, she pulled down his pants. She had to wiggle a bit out of her own from how tight they were but she was sure he wouldn't care. Hell, if he liked her so much in them, he'd like her even better out of them. She knew his way of thought-when it came to these types of activities, they weren't that much different. They were both perverted in the dirtiest of ways and if one of them hadn't been, this would have been a very boring relationship from the get go. Doing it in a public bathroom sounded dirty and just downright not healthy but what did she care? They'd done it in tons of places so this didn't really mean much. It was a bathroom-and she planned on doing it in a fitting room later too if they got the chance. It was easier in New York City in the big department stores since there were always fitting rooms that were rarely used but the fun part was doing it in a crowded one and trying to keep quiet the entire time. That was the challenge and right here in the bathroom? Another challenge...because everything echoed and if people heard them, she couldn't have the police-mall security or not-called on her. It could tarnish her mostly impeccable record and ruin her chances of getting a permanent teaching position. But at the moment, none of that was going through her mind. Her lips were too busy roughly and passionately playing tonsil hockey with Noah's and while one hand was busy on his third leg, the other was pulling on his hair...ready for whatever he threw at her. click for outfit |

for broken hearts
A YEAR AGO, IF SOMEONE HAD TOLD HIM HE WOULD BE FUCKING ALLISON IN A BATHROOM IN THE MALL, FALLING IN LOVE WITH HER ALL OVER AGAIN, HE WOULD HAVE LAUGHED IN THAT PERSON'S FACE. A YEAR BEFORE, NOAH HAD BELIEVED WHATEVER HAD BEEN BETWEEN THEM ONCE HAD LONG FIZZLED OUT WITH NO HOPE OF BEING REKINDLED. BUT YOU HAVE TO FIGHT FOR YOUR SOULMATES, RIGHT? SO, WHEN HE'D RECEIVED THE DIVORCE PAPERS FROM HER, THAT HAD BEEN HIS BREAKING POINT. HE'D BEEN FINE TO LIVE ALONE WITH HER SOMEWHERE-HE-DIDN'T-KNOW AS LONG AS SHE WAS STILL MARRIED TO HIM. IT SOUNDED STUPID CONSIDERING HE HADN'T BEEN FAITHFUL TO HER DURING THOSE FEW MONTHS HE WAS LIVING IN A DARK TIME IN NEW YORK, BUT SOMETHING ABOUT STILL BEING MARRIED TO ALLISON GAVE NOAH A SPARK OF LIGHT IN HIS OTHERWISE DISMAL LIFE AT THE TIME. ALTHOUGH SHE'D BEEN ELSEWHERE AND HE HADN'T SEEN HER SINCE THAT NIGHT SHE'D WALKED OUT AND HER BROTHER HAD ALMOST ENCITED HIM TO BEAT THE HELL OUT OF HIM, SHE WAS STILL IN THE BACK OF HIS MIND AT ALL TIMES. IF HE SLEPT WITH ANOTHER WOMAN, HE WAS STILL THINKING ABOUT ALLISON: ABOUT THE TREE HOUSE OR THE YACHT OR THE MANSION OR THE SUBWAY OR ANYWHERE OTHER THAN WHERE HE WAS AT THE TIME. HE COULDN'T FOCUS ON OTHER WOMEN BECAUSE HE'D ALWAYS BE SEEING THAT BLOND HAIR AND THOSE EYES AND THAT BODY... HE'D BE REMEMBERING HER TEARS OF JOY WHEN JOHNNY WAS BORN, AND HER SHINING SMILE WHEN SHE'D FIRST TAKEN HIS HEART BY HANDING HIM A DAMN CANON IN TIMES SQUARE AND ASKED HIM TO TAKE A PICTURE. HE'D KNOWN THEN, AS HE KNEW NOW, THAT HE WAS AN ASS FOR GIVING UP THE FIGHT FOR HER. IF HE'D HAD A FAIRY GODMOTHER, SHE WOULD HAVE TOLD HIM HE WAS A PITIFUL EXCUSE FOR A MAN AND HE SHOULD FIGHT FOR ALLISON; SHE WAS HIS SOULMATE.
THOSE PAPERS HAD BEEN HIS WAKE-UP CALL.
NOW, AS HE HELD HER IN HIS ARMS AND KISSED HER ALL OVER HER FACE AND DOWN HER NECK TO HER CHEST, HE WAS SO GLAD HE'D LISTENED TO HIS INSTINCTS. HE DIDN'T EVEN GIVE A DAMN THAT THEY WERE IN THE BATHROOM AND IT WASN'T EXACTLY THE MOST ROMANTIC PLACE THEY'D EVER HAD SEX: IT WAS AVAILABLE, AND HE NEEDED HER NOW. HE PULLED HER WIDE-NECK SHIRT OFF HER SHOULDER AND SLIPPED HER BRA STRAP DOWN SO HE COULD KISS HER NOW-EXPOSED COLLARBONE. BEHIND HIM, HE HEARD A KNOCK ON THE DOOR, AND HE LIFTED HIS HEAD, SMILING RUEFULLY AT ALLISON. "IT'S GONNA BE A WHILE," HE CALLED EVEN AS HE TRIED TO CONTROL HIS VOICE BECAUSE SHE HAD UNZIPPED HER PANTS AND WAS NOW HANDLING HIM, MAKING IT RATHER DIFFICULT FOR HIM TO SPEAK CLEARLY. "YOU SHOULD PROBABLY GO ELSEWHERE." SATISFIED THAT THE OTHER PERSON HAD DEPARTED, HE TURNED BACK TO ALLISON AND HELPED HER PULL HER OWN PANTS OFF, DESERTING THEM ON THE FLOOR WITH HIS OWN. THEIR UNDERWEAR REMAINED ON, AND HE HALTED HER BEFORE SHE COULD REMOVE HIS BOXERS. HE PULLED HER SHIRT OFF OVER HER HEAD AND WHISKED OFF HIS OWN, AND THEN THEY WERE SKIN ON SKIN ONCE MORE LIKE THAT NIGHT ONLY A WEEK AGO. HIS HANDS RAN UP AND DOWN THE SMOOTH SKIN ON HER SIDES, AND HE HUGGED HER INTO HIM AS SHE WRAPPED HER LEGS AROUND HIM. EASILY, HE LIFTED HER WEIGHT AND DID WHAT HE MUST TO PUSH HER REMAINING GARMENTS TO THE SIDE TO GET WHAT THEY BOTH WANTED.
WHO KNEW ECSTASY COULD BE ACHIEVED IN A MALL RESTROOM? BEFORE TODAY, NOAH WOULDN'T HAVE GUESSED IT EITHER, BUT HE AND ALLISON HAD ALWAYS HAD A WAY OF MAKING THE MOST OUT OF NOTHING. THE SMALL ROOM WHICH HAD ONCE BEEN FILLED WITH THE SLIGHT CHILL OF THE MALL'S CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERE WAS NOW STEAMY AND WARM FROM THEIR GRINDING BODIES, AND THE WALLS FELT ALMOST A BIT SLIPPERY AS IF A SHOWER HAD BEEN ON WITHIN. SPINNING HER, HE SLID HER ONTO THE SINK, HIS HANDS PINNING HERS BACK AGAINST THE WALL AS HIS MOUTH ROAMED HER UPPER BODY. HE FORGOT ALL OF HIS PRECONCEIVED NOTIONS OF WHAT THEY WERE AS THEY EXPLORED ONE ANOTHER ALL OVER AGAIN. HE FORGOT THEIR PAST AND FELT THEIR FUTURE BEING FORMED. HE WOULD ONLY RELEASE HER WHEN HE WAS DONE HAVING ALL OF HER, AND THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN. URL=http://z10.invisionfree.com/CAUTIONTOTHEWIND/index.php?showuser=29715]there can be only one mikey! |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(); width: 400px; padding-top: 30; padding-bottom: 30;] KISS ME AT THE GATE
She easily let him take control, unlike the way she'd taken control the last time around. She enjoyed being submissive every now and again and as he pinned her arms back and she felt their bodies connect, she bit at his neck and kept her lips roughly against his own to keep her loud moaning , groaning, and cries from escaping into the sound waves. And once they were done, she was fixing her hair a bit before tugging a bit on her top as she walked out of the bathroom with ease, like what they just did was normal and not out of the ordinary at all. She easily fell right back into place, feeling a bit more charged up than before but still exhausted physically from running around all day and then having fun with Noah in the random bathroom of the mall. Her fingers slipped into his own as she looked up at him with bright eyes, matching his stride and nibbling on his ear a bit before snatching a quick kiss, "So what are you looking for, Mr. Constantino," she chuckled as she locked her eyes onto his own. Whatever it was, the fitting room was next...definitely. She felt like there was a target on the back of her head as she walked and she smoothly glanced over her thin shoulder before brushing it off as nothing more than silly paranoia over what they'd done. She normally didn't feel like she'd been some big bad girl after doing such things in public. She enjoyed the thrill of it, of not getting caught, of having fun when the moment was right and not so right. But she couldn't, just couldn't, shake off the feeling that someone was watching either her or both of them a bit too closely and she glanced over at Noah to see any sign that he felt it too but she didn't see it. Maybe it was all in her head? Probably. It wasn't like someone was going to run up and just shank her. She didn't really have any enemies or anyone who really hated her other than maybe Noah's parents but at this point she didn't think they cared much about her existence. She was just a hood rat Italian chick from Newark, right? A piece of Jersey trash compared to their elite New York lifestyle. Running her fingers through her hair to relax the feeling off of her now tensed shoulders, she leaned in closer to Noah instinctively , letting go of his hand to slip it into his back pocket as they walked, fitting into the crook of his shoulder with a swiftness that seemed only natural for a couple like them. She could see eyes being drawn to them and she ignored them. Noah was well known in Sapphire Bay and once again, through him, she'd gained her own unwanted popularity. The last thing they both needed was gossip spreading about them that could cause tension where it wasn't necessary. But they were above all of that, right? So they, at least she, didn't have any enemies to worry about. But then why did it feel like someone was practically breathing down her neck? click for outfit |

for broken hearts
THEIR MOMENT WAS OVER BEFORE HE KNEW IT, AND HE SMILED AS HE WATCHED HER STRAIGHTEN HER CLOTHES WHILE HE PULLED ON HIS PANTS AND SHIRT AND STRAIGHTENED HIS OUTFIT. BEFORE LONG, HE WRAPPED HIS ARM AROUND HER AND THEY LEFT THE BATHROOM, PASSING A PERTURBED OLDER LADY WHO GLARED AT THEM AS THEY PASSED. NOAH BUSTED OUT LAUGHING AS THEY ENTERED THE BRIGHTER LIT AREA OF THE MALL. THE WOMAN SHOOK HER HEAD AND WALKED PAST AND INTO THE BATHROOM WHICH MADE HIM CHUCKLE EVEN MORE BECAUSE HE KNEW IT HAD TO SMELL LIKE SEX IN THERE. HE HUGGED ALI CLOSE TO HIS SIDE AS THEY ENTERED THE STREAM OF PEOPLE MEANDERING THROUGH THE MALL ON THE LOWER FLOOR, AND HE PEERED AROUND THE PLACE IN CURIOSITY. IT WASN'T LIKE HE'D NEVER BEEN IN A MALL BEFORE; HE JUST HADN'T BEEN IN THIS ONE, AND HE WAS STILL AMAZED BY THE SHEER AMOUNT OF SHOPS AND PEOPLE IT COULD HOLD. WHY A PLACE LIKE SAPPHIRE BAY HAD SUCH A MONOLITH, HE HAD YET TO FIGURE OUT.
"UGH, I HAVE NO IDEA. YOU KNOW ME: SUITS, TIES, AND POLO SHIRTS. I'M BORING," HE REPLIED, SHRUGGING AND SMILING AMIABLY. ALLISON HUGGED HERSELF CLOSER TO HIM, SLIPPING HER HAND INTO HIS BACK POCKET, AND HE LIKED THE FACT THAT SHE WANTED TO BE IN HIS BUBBLE. IT HAD BEEN SO LONG SINCE THEY'D BEEN IN LOVE ENOUGH TO WANT TO BE CLOSE TO ONE ANOTHER IN THIS WAY, THAT HE RELISHED EVERY MOMENT OF IT. PEOPLE WATCHED THEM, SOME IN JEALOUSY, SOME IN THAT STRANGE SORT OF AWE PEOPLE GET OVER OTHER PEOPLE THEY'VE READ ABOUT IN THE PAPERS AND SEEN ON TV, BUT NOAH IGNORED THEM ALL. ALL HE CARED ABOUT RIGHT NOW WAS REESTABLISHING HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ONLY WOMAN HE'D EVER LOVED: HE COULD CARE LESS WHAT EVERYONE WATCHING THEM THOUGHT ABOUT IT.
HE WAS SO WRAPPED UP IN THE HIGH OF BEING NEAR TO HER THAT THEY HAD MADE IT AROUND THE CORNER AND INTO A NEW SECTION BEFORE HE REALIZED ALLISON HAD GONE STIFF AT HIS SIDE. GLANCING DOWN AT HER, HE NOTICED HER EYES DARTING AROUND AS IF SHE WAS BEING FOLLOWED. HIS BROW FURROWED AND HE LED HER INTO A NEARBY MEN'S STORE, PULLING AWAY FROM HER AND FROWNING DOWN AT HER. "WHAT'S WRONG?" HE ASKED, GLANCING OVER HER SHOULDER. HE HADN'T PICKED UP ON THE EERIE FEELING SHE WAS GETTING, AND HE HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS GOING ON. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(); width: 400px; padding-top: 30; padding-bottom: 30;] KISS ME AT THE GATE
Her heels clicking on the waxed floors were practically muted by the amount of people. Late afternoon shoppers as per usual even if it was a weekday. She seemed oblivious to the eyes on her and Noah, too caught up in the sudden feeling of paranoia in the back of her head. Her mother used to tell her to never ignore her intuition but they were in a shopping mall. What on earth could go wrong there? She didn't think there would be anyone out to get them so bad that it made the fine hairs on the back of her neck stand up like a cat. She'd practically known Noah her whole life and for the most part, he hadn't hidden anything form her other than the obvious which she found out about. That and at least she didn't try to hide anything from him. There was never a need to. Their circles of friends became one massive one and everyone just sort of knew everything at that point, "Maybe we'll get you a dress to make you look unboring," she added casually with a silly grin on her face as she looked up at him. Noah wasn't boring-not to her at least. She'd only visited him at work a handful of times in the earlier months of their marriage and even then, she didn't know what kind of guy he really was at work other than from what people told her or the media reported. Mostly, it was because she would show up at his job and the last thing he'd be doing was working when he'd walk into his office and find her sitting at his desk in one out of many outfits ranging from a little Italian maid to a police woman. But even as her mind drifted to what stores they could go to, that weird gut feeling was still there. She stopped them on an overpass when he asked what was wrong and her eyebrows came together as she turned to face him, "I have this weird feeling that-" but her words were cut off by the sharp sound of a bullet piercing the air and Allison stood completely still, her tone going from golden and rosy to pale in a fraction of a second like she just saw a ghost.Immediately, her hand clutched at her side,unable to reach where she'd actually gotten hit, and she felt the warm bubble of copper liquid in her mouth, trickling out of the corner. She was looking dead at Noah but she wasn't at the same time. It was as if she were looking through him and the pain easily blossomed in her back. She could feel that same burning warm liquid, like a wild fire, spreading throughout her spine and ribs, hips and legs until they felt like jello. She couldn't hear anything but she could see people past Noah maybe yelling or screaming, mouthing out words she could focus on as her vision blurred in and out. She couldn't tell her body was swaying until the world seemed to start tilting on it's axis and she tried to suck in a large gulp of air but couldn't. Maybe she hit the ground but whatever caught her or didn't catch her she couldn't feel. She was focused on trying to breathe and in order to concentrate on something other than the pain bursting in her back, she concentrated on Noah's face. Was this what it was like to die? She'd never had a near death experience before other than when she and Noah had gone on that date in Central Park and the cyclist nearly crashed into her because he wasn't paying attention. Was this how Lil Johnny felt when he was laying in that hospital bed just trying to breathe properly like she was? Did he distract himself by concentrating on her and her singing him his favorite lullabies the way she was trying to concentrate on what words Noah was saying? Every now and again she'd hear his voice but soon enough, all the colors and noises around her seemed to blur into one big mesh and she felt her muscles relax and give in to whatever was happening. If she made it out of this, she'd have Noah. If she didn't, she'd have Johnny right? It was practically a win win though the pain wasn't fun. And was it horrible for her, at that moment, to start leaning toward Johnny instead? Noah would understand. He'd probably do the same. click for outfit |

for broken hearts
HOLDING ALLISON CLOSE TO HIM WAS LIKE A TYPE OF HEAVEN HAD HADN'T EXPERIENCED IN YEARS. HE FELT LIKE A HIGH SCHOOLER AGAIN, AND THE SENSATION BROUGHT A SMILE TO HIS FACE. HE WAS OBLIVIOUS TO WHAT WAS GOING ON AROUND THEM AS THEY WALKED, SO CAUGHT UP WAS HE IN THE HIGH HE HAD FROM BEING CLOSE TO HER AGAIN. CHUCKLING AT HER SUGGESTION TO TURN HIM INTO A CROSS DRESSER, HE TICKLED HER SIDE AND THEN NOTICED HER GLANCING AROUND WORRIEDLY ONCE MORE. AS HE ASKED HER WHAT WAS BOTHERING HER, SHE PULLED HIM BACK OUT OF THE STORE HE'D TAKEN THEM INTO, AND LED HIM TO A CROSSING PATHWAY WHICH LED THROUGH THE CENTER OF THE MALL FROM ONE SIDE TO THE OTHER. THEY WERE 'ALONE' HERE AS OPPOSED TO THE STORE HE'D LED THEM INTO, AND HE GUESSED THAT WAS EXACTLY WHAT SHE WANTED. SHE DIDN'T SEEM THAT SHE WANTED ANYONE TO HEAR WHAT WAS PLAGUING HER.
I have this weird feeling that- HER WORDS WERE CUT OFF AS THE LOUDEST SOUND NOAH HAD EVER HEARD CUT THROUGH THE AIR. INSTINCTIVELY, HE REACHED FOR HER WHILE CUPPING A HAND OVER HIS EARS. PEOPLE AROUND THEM BEGAN SCREAMING, RUNNING LIKE CRAZY PEOPLE IN AND OUT OF THE NEARBY STORES, AND NOAH LOOKED FRANTICALLY AROUND FOR THE SOURCE. HE KNEW, WITHOUT EVER HAVING HEARD A GUNSHOT BEFORE, THAT THAT WAS WHAT HAD MADE THE DIN. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?" HE ASKED ALLISON, LOOKING DOWN AT HER AS HE RECOVERED FROM THE INITIAL SHOCK. SEEING THE BLOOD BUBBLING TO HER LIPS AND HER HANDS CLENCHED TO HER SIDE, HIS EYES WENT WIDE AND HE LEAPT FOR HER AS SHE BEGAN TO FALL. "ALI! NO, ALI! BABY, CAN YOU HEAR ME?" HER EYES WENT DEAD, BUT HE COULD TELL SHE WAS STILL MANAGING TO BREATH AS HE HURRIEDLY PULLED HIS CELLPHONE FROM HIS POCKET, DROPPED IT TO THE FLOOR, AND SCOOPED IT BACK UP IN A PANIC. DIALING 911, HE COMFORTED HER AS BEST HE COULD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STAMPEDING CROWD OF SHOPPERS, GONE MAD FROM THE GUNSHOTS. LOOKING AROUND FRANTICALLY AS HE WAITED FOR THE OPERATOR TO COME ON THE LINE, HE SUDDENLY CAUGHT SIGHT OF A FIGURE STANDING ON THE LEVEL BELOW WHERE HE KNELT HOLDING ALI.
THE MAN WAS STARING DIRECTLY AT HIM, WEARING A DUSTER JACKET AND GOLFER'S CAP SO NOAH COULDN'T SEE HIS FACE CLEARLY DUE TO THE SHADOW OVER HIS EYES. HE MAN NODDED AND SEEMED TO POCKET SOMETHING AND THEN GRIPPED THE BRIM OF HIS HAT IN A SMALL SALUTING GESTURE BEFORE TURNING AND DISAPPEARING INTO THE WILD CROWD. AS THE OPERATOR CAME ON THE LINE, NOAH WAS MOMENTARILY SPEECHLESS. WHAT WAS THIS? THAT MAN HAD OBVIOUSLY BEEN TRYING TO TELL HIM SOMETHING, AND WHAT WAS THAT HE'D PUT INTO HIS POCKET? HIS MIND WAS TOO WIRED AND PANICKED AS ALLISON'S BLOOD SEEPED INTO HIS PANTS FOR HIM TO REASON CLEARLY. HE KNEW IT WOULD ALL COME TO HIM LATER, BUT FOR NOW, HE COULDN'T UNDERSTAND ANY OF IT.
HE DAZEDLY TOLD THE 911 OPERATOR WHAT HAD HAPPENED, HIS WIFE WAS SHOT AND LOSING BLOOD RAPIDLY, AND HE HUNG UP WHEN SHE ASSURED HIM SOMEONE WAS ON THE WAY. CRADLING ALLISON TO HIS CHEST, HE COULDN'T STOP THE TEARS THAT SPILLED FROM HIS EYES. "HANG ON, ALI. PLEASE... I CAN'T LOSE YOU AGAIN..." |

The screaming that came in and out of her ears bugged her like a fly buzzing around her head but she couldn't just make it go away. Her eyelids weighed heavily over her now paling blue orbs, the flash of sparkle that was usually there-vibrant and full of life-was dimming at a rapid pace as she felt another bubble of blood come out of her mouth. Why would someone want to shoot her? She didn't think she'd ever wronged someone enough, ever, in her life to die in such a tragic and public way. She always thought she'd die of old age with Noah like in the movie The Notebook. She could still remember her older sister making fun of her, telling her they had their names so they'd end up with some crazy love story just like them. Now looking back on it, such a random memory of her and Claire sitting on the couch watching such a silly movie while being a couple of teenagers...it suddenly seemed a tad bit too precious and innocent to her. She found herself remembering the oddest things like when she was at the park with Noah one time when Johnny was still alive. It had been the first day off he'd managed to get and though Noah insisted they go to the Hamptons, she had stubbornly put her foot down and said they couldn't go yet because Johnny wanted to go to the park and try the swings for the first time. After a long and heated argument over something so trivial, he had given in and they ended up at the park. Allison had brought the video camera and was filming the entire thing: Noah giving in and laughing when Johnny accidentally got ice cream on his khakis, Johnny going to the top of the big swirly slide and yelling for Mommy to watch before Noah caught him at the bottom. He'd been sick then...it was summer but he had to wear his cute little blue hat Allison had knit for him especially with his initials on it. Then when they got to their home at the Hamptons, Noah had taken her out to the beach while Johnny fell asleep with the baby sitter and he had started dancing with her while the sun was setting and they drank wine. There had been no music playing-but they had the ocean and the sound of the wind through the tall sea grass. They hadn't needed anything but each other and it had been a perfect day even if it had initially started with a nasty argument. She couldn't tell where she was now. She could see the reflection of red and blue lights flashing around, couldn't feel a think other than the sheering pain, and every now and again Noah's worried and heart broken face would bob in and out. Someone kept trying to pull him away but she couldn't tell and without even realizing it, she found herself locking onto him-attempting to fight off the sleep and concentrate on reaching out toward him until she found his hand and tried squeezing it as tightly as she could though she was pretty sure it wasn't much. She was having trouble just keeping her eyelids from drooping. She let her head lull to the side and everything around her continued to come in and out of focus. She couldn't feel the paramedics with whatever they were doing though she was pretty sure she could recall them barking orders at Noah in the strangest of calm ways. Whenever she noticed Noah's eyes darting away, she tried squeezing harder. She needed to focus on his eyes-because that's where everything was when it came to him and she couldn't focus if he kept looking away and the second he seemed to look at her for what felt like longer than a minute, she felt her eyes slowly slide shut. By the time she had gotten to the hospital, she had flat lined twice. Allison had always been a tough chick. It took more than just little things to make her crack under pressure but a bullet seemed to be the icing on the cake. She didn't know how long she was out for but what she did know was that in her head, she seemed to go over every memory in chronological order like a filing cabinet. She wasn't able to slow down the wonderful ones or fast forward through the horrible ones but she watched them like she had watched The Notebook with Claire all those years ago. By the time she woke up, she felt achy all over but nothing she couldn't handle. There was a doctor in the room looking at someone on the other side of the bed that she couldn't see in her peripheral and there were a few nurses at the foot of the bed silently listening. She could hear the heart monitor steadily and as a nurse seemed to notice she was awake, her hearing decided to come back and she caught the tail end of what the doctor said, "...which caused her right kidney to collapse. She can live with just one-she just has to take a few extra precautions..." but his voice faded out as a nurse seemed to catch his attention, "Sir, the patient..." and then the man seemed to look down at her and as he did, she felt herself slightly shrink away from him-not entirely sure if she was supposed to be listening to what he was saying or if she was supposed to remain asleep through all of that. Instinctively, she reached out on the opposite side of her for the familiar hand that had always been there and the second the fingers laced in with his one warm ones compared to her cold ones that looked like they were too pale for her liking, she looked over at him and relief seemed to settle inside of her. She never thought she'd see the inside of the Intensive Care Unit again...She never wanted to. click for outfit |
